BrooksMen's Revel 4 Neutral Running Shoe

My first pair of Brooks were the Revel 2. I’ve bought 3 pair since my Revel 2 and the quality, to me , is digressing. The material on my Revel 4.0 is very thin and cheap. Yes it’s comfortable, but how long will they last? My Revel 2 are going strong and continue to be comfortable. I’ve replaced the inner sole, but the outer material is in great shape. My Revel 4.0 will probably be my next lawn mowing shoe. Sad, but cheap.

Had an issue with tread separation, but Brooks was awesome and sent be another pair. I've worn Brooks for years and am happy.

I was very disappointed in the overall quality and comfort of the shoes. My expectations were high since my son son had an older version of the same shoe that he loved. I had tried his shoes on when they were new, and they were very comfortable and seemed well-built. The shoe I ordered did not have the look or feel of a good quality product. Even the Brooks logo looked cheap, and the flat shoestrings on the shoes seem to be of very low quality. To top it all off, the shoes were very poorly packed for shipping, and the box was virtually destroyed by the time I received it. I will be sending these back for a refund.

My husband had an older version of these, which he loved, so I grabbed him a pair of these when that older pair wore out. He seems to like these too. He doesn’t use them for running, just walking around and everyday wear. They seem to be holding up quite well. He likes how breathable they are! Just a note: they are quite lightweight, so not really good for people who might need a little more foot support.

The delivery took a while, but the shoes are great. I'm a 75 year old and live on the top of a small mountain. My daily exercise regimen consists of walking down to the base of the mountain and back up, a total of about five miles. It takes about 90 minutes. The road I walk on is tar and chip. These shoes are lightweight and comfortable from the first time you wear them and have served me well on my walks. I have had three or four pairs of the Revels, and appreciate the construction, especially the rear of the sole, which, unlike many running shoes, forms a gently curve upwards in keeping with the foot's way of hitting the ground, heel first. I find that I don't wear the heels down as quickly with the Revels than I do with my other favorites, the Asics Gel Nimbus. On this particular version, I especially like the laces which somehow seem different but good. If I were still a runner, I think I would be satisfied which these shoes.

Husband bought these to work out in. He has flat feet and wide. When he tried them on they were uncomfortable and we were actually going to send them back. He has a shoe expander to help stretch them a little and after wearing a few times he likes them. Still needs an insole to help with his flat foot but works. So if you have wide, flat feet may want to look elsewhere. But these will work for the time being.
