It does not have a smell of any kind.

Does this liner prevent kitchen items (like an ice cream scoop, can opener, cookie dough scooper, etc) from moving around in drawer?

Yes and no! The liner, itself will move around unless you find a way to anchor it in. I do like it though, so much easier to line your shelves and drawers, and looks very neat. Pulling the liner back a little is also easier than pulling back multiple items.

Will this cause any problems with painted shelves? Will it pull up paint or adhere to it?

No problem with the paint. It is non- adhesive.

Is this product acid free as well as pvc free?
