Q: just to be sure that this price is for 6 skeins, not 1 skein?

This is just one skein. Where it says, " 6 Super Bulky Weight: Bulky, Roving Yarn; 8 oz (227 g), 160 yd (146 m); One skein only; Each skein measures approximately 12 by 4 by 4-Inch." 6 means the thickness grade of the yarn. Size 4 is normal worsted, 5 is bulky, and 6 is superbulky.

Q: do you get the same color lot number?

Yes I did. Most knitters try to make sure that they purchase the same dye lot and then for some reason perhaps decide that they don't want the yarn anymore and it's too late to return....hence they sell. I am not sure if there is a way to contact the seller and ask if the dye lot is the same. Good Luck!

Q: Will 1 of these make a scarf? With say 19 cast ons?

Hello, I would also cast on less stitches - 12 stitches - with size 17 needles. This will give you a very soft scarf and it should be long enough - this is a very thick yarn and it looks good loosely knit. Gena, Yarn Designers Boutique, toll free 888 538 2725.

Q: Will a size U/25mm hook be ideal for this yarn?

I use a Q hook for infinity scarves and lap blankets. This yarn works up quickly with a big hook. I haven’t used a U hook.
