Can you attach an avocado fruit picker basket to it?

That depends on the picker basket as to its base!

Is the handle cushioned and soft for holding ease?

Yes the base part of the handle is cushioned and fairly comfortable. I have used it to paint 3 rooms, a closet and a hallway so far and it has been comfortable for my hands. The extending portions are not padded.

Did not receive a reply yet. Is the tubing notched to keep them interlocked . what keeps the tubes from spinning.

Yes there are notches that keep them interlocked and then a lock for each extending portion to keep it in place. It has been sturdy for painting work.

Is the tubing notched so it does not spin . Or does it rely on the lock latches to hold it from rotating .

It is notched and will not rotate even without the locks.
