Antoine Acrylic Nipper No 11- 1/2 Jaw Made In French.

I have been a nail technician for 22 years and have always used the Antoinne Cobalt 11 nippers. They used to last me for years. Now, I buy them and they break in 6 months. I think they are making them with a less expensive material now. I am very frustrated with this brand.

I purchased 3 pair in August 2010 and have used them daily. I ruined one pair the first year by dropping on the tips which bent. I have used the other two pair as cuticle nippers 5 days a week since. They have stayed sharp, but are getting a little dull for cuticle work, but will keep for toenail work. These fit a woman's hand like a glove and the spring allows smooth motion without fatigue. I'm ordering another pair today!

This is the second of these clippers I've purchased. The first was about 30 years ago in a nail supply shop, and it was so well made that it lasted 30 years with very frequent usage. Finally the inner metal leaf-type spring broke off at the base from 30 years of metal fatigue. The clipper part was still usable, but only with more of a chopsticks type motion since there was no tension to push it open the 1/4 inch or so at the tip. I ordered a new one the same day it broke. It arrived quickly, and appears to be just as sturdy as my original one. At this rate, I probably won't live long enough to order a third.Update... Well, only a year and a half later, the leaf spring has broken. Obviously this is not as well made as my original.
