Tastes good
I like coffee but coffee makes me itchy and jittery. I've tried several other products that "taste like coffee" . Just to find they did not fit the bill and didn't taste anything like coffee. But was pleasantly surprised and this product tastes a lot like coffee with a hint of chocolate . I tried it both hot and cold and like it both ways .

It’s good. Not life changing.
It’s pretty good. You have to use a lot of grounds to make it strong. On the expensive side.

Odd.
Okay, my personal take is that I won't be switching to this BUT, I have noticed that I enjoy the flavor twist it offers when I add it to a round of coffee. Neat little add to the grounds for that next pot but yeah... not something I will be using on it's own again.

Important info!
I never write reviews but felt it was important for this product. I was absolutely dying to try this "coffee." Upon arrival, I was disappointed to read you could not use a traditional paper filter. So I ordered a reusable one off amazon which came the next day (yay!). I finally got to brew this in my coffee maker using the 2 tbl and 16 oz water. My first impression was it was tasty and similar to a chocolate tea I had had before. I was anxious to try it with a double brew which I did the next morning. This is critical to giving it the appropriate taste. (4 heaping tbl + 16 oz water.) This is the only way to get the most flavor. I added it to my coffee drink and voila. Is this something I would purchase again? Probably not but it is definitely worth a shot if you are sick of coffee and tea and looking for a low calorie replacement. *Addition - I'm not sure I would call this low calorie as it does have 20 cals per 2 tbl serving so not as quite as low as regular coffee. Good luck and enjoy!

Good flavor; Not coffee or cocoa
This is good, but you can't think of it as a direct replacement for coffee or hot chocolate. It makes me remember reading about the Aztec (or Mayans or Incans) making hot chocolate, and the text saying something like, "but it wouldn't have been what we think of as hot chocolate; it would have been a thin, bitter brew." This is probably a lot like that, but sweeter due to the choice of cocoa bean or breeding, etc. It is essentially well-chosen cocoa nibs chopped/ground coarsely. I drink iced coffee, typically with lots of milk and sweetener. I've cut back on caffeine and sugar by substituting 50% of the coffee with this brew. When I combine with a high quality unsweetened almond milk, I get a very satisfying morning drink with virtually no bitterness.

Health cocoa. Add sugar and cream. Let steep at least 10 minutes.. or more. You will get
a very rich and nutritious cup of cocoa. I use a steel pan and boil water in it. When it boils I toss in a good handful of the cacao then turn off the heat. Then I add 2 or 3 tspns of white sugar and a healthy dollop of half and half. Then I let it sit and go back to work on my computer. Some time later, the scent of chocolate is permeating the house and I go back in the kitchen turn on the stove again and reheat the cocoa. After it comes to a boil I take it off and then put a steel mesh strainer over my big coffee mug and pour the mixture in. The strainer separates the raw cacao from the drink which is left hot and creamy in your cup. Delicious. I like the Ghana light roast. I also have the Nicaragua which has a stronger flavor. Sometimes I mix them if I want stronger. Although I always drink coffee black I don't recommend drinking this cacao like that. I drink coffee in the day and cacao with cream and sugar at night.

Delicious
I hate coffee so I’m really happy to have discovered this delicious coffee alternative! I love. The only drawback is that it’s ridiculously expensive.
