Compact in terms of design, it scores high on the aspect of utility too. This is what makes it worth the buy.

So far so good!
I've used it once so far, but am waiting for some material to get started. It goes strong and fast and with some youtube help I was able to wind the bobbin and get started! Overall happy with the purchase, hope it will last me for years.

Good sturdy reliable machine
This is great, fit for purpose and easy to use. I wish the ‘extender’ was actually an extender doesn’t really seem much point as it’s not a flat surface when extended.

Great machine with lots of online resources
Great sewing machine for heavy-duty work. I used it to stitch through leather with some additional leather needles, and it worked like a charm. The machine showed no sign of struggling and the stitching was strong. There are a lot of video tutorials online about this particular machine, so you'll never feel lost using it.If you're planning on doing heavy-duty work, consider the following needles:Leather: Singer Leather Machine Needles Denim: Singer Denim Machine Needles, Size 100/16, 3-Pack Universal heavy duty (good for thick materials): Singer Heavy Duty Machine Needles, Size 110/18, 3-PackSinger Leather Machine NeedlesSinger Denim Machine Needles, Size 100/16, 3-PackSinger Heavy Duty Machine Needles, Size 110/18, 3-Pack

solid machine for basic heavy duty sewing needs
Very pleased so far. Good quality stitches - both for straight and zig-zag. Have sewn many camping related gear/items with this sewing machine.Took a while to fine tune the best combination of thread and needle type for my needs:Using this with "Gutermann Top Stitch Heavy Duty" thread and "Singer Heavy Duty Machine Needles, Size 110/18" -- works like a charm sewing through 3 layers of heavy thick canvas, or 2 layers of webbing. Don't be cheap. Replace your needles often, as the tip does dull over time. Surprisingly, this helps a lot.I strongly recommend watching the online intro videos (avail. on youtube) before you start. It will really really help, and will eliminate a lot of frustration going forward. Should only take about an hour of your time.
