I like this unit so much, I purchased another for my business. I use it to check a 36 battery, 48 volt solar battery bank. Its used quarterly and does a fine job. Fast, easy to use and accurate, allowing me to get an accurate cell by cell health check on the entire bank. You can spend hundreds more on a similar unit, but I think you'd be wasting your money.There are no batteries required to operate the unit, so you don't have to worry about always feeding it batteries to operate.

I mixed brand new coolant and tested it, it showed what the coolant manufacturer said it should be. Seems accurate, easy to use.

Received the product the other day, It has a decent fit and finishes quality and craftsmanship. It should serve very well for many years.Just check to calibration right out of the box and it was spot on. Very clear eyepiece and the scale is very clear and crisp.

I really like this tool! I only use it for checking the specific gravity of batteries. Way more accurate then a squeeze bulb type. Easy to calibrate. Price is right. My only gripe is the eye focus piece does not hold adjustment and turns toout easy so you must refocus every time.

I have a milling machine that is set up for flood coolant and the coolant needs to be at a certain percentage to work at its optimal level. So you put a drop in there and check the levels. Works great.

I calibrated with distilled water and it was already accurate. The blue/white description seems odd but just do it and turn the end to focus for your eye. Once I measured a few drops of the antifreeze it measured -32C or -25F; I did not take a second measurement or compare with another method. The illustrations in the instruction pamphlet seemed totally useless to me. I wish they would just explain what the 3 screens mean (I know now). If you are used to a Fahrenheit reading you will need to calculate from "C." Generally it was much easier to work with than I thought. I'm glad I purchased it.

I was a little skeptical of the reviews saying “it’s good”, “works as promised”, “great product”, etc. with no real specific application examples. So, I’d like to add another positive review. out the box, it came calibrated, which was verified with distilled water before use. Inside workshop temperature of 85*, testing my sample of 40% Antifreeze and 60% water summer mix indicated -25*C or -13* F and it also matches according to an antifreeze chart by % volume. Coincidently, it also matches my needle gauge. I had time before the coolant change so I performed this test for several days and had the same results each time. I also tested another mix of -22C/-7F and both gauges matched again. I did notice it’s important to clean the lens and cover (I used wipes and towels for eye glasses) and to rinse and let the dropper dry before the next use. So far, very happy with my purchase and considerably easier to see the numeric reading than the needle gauge.

Arrived well packaged and on time. Purchased this to double check coolant for winterizing an inboard boat (I use Prestone) as I was originally checking this with an older bulb style coolant temp range tool and figured the reading was off and it was waaay off so im glad I picked this up for a more accurate reading. It works incredibly well but I recommend double checking the calibration of it when it arrives as mine required a slight adjustment which is very easy to do with ultra pure water and a small screwdriver. Haven't tryed it for checking battery acid and washer fluid but thats a neat extra feature. Highly recommend for reasonably priced piece of mind!

It is a simple device that only requires the simplest basic upkeep. It is built strong but can break if misused. It is at the top of what I would pay for this type of tester. We have the very same one at work except the sticker on it is different and the company far overpaid for it. I pointed this out to my manager with my receipt and product. I would buy another one in the future if needed.

I use this for confirming the mix strength of propylene glycol in hydronic heating systems. As compared to a $100 unit the only big difference is the amount of light required to get a clear reading, aside from that, it is accurate and reliable. Worth the price.

Not the highest quality materials but priced correctly and functions correctly.

It is important to test the quality of antifreeze as I store my vehicles outdoor during winter.
