This video doorbell is requires a mains supply. It does not operate from a battery. If you already have a bell transformer this is a doddle to fit. If not, you'll need to install a transformer and run a wire to the unit. This is not difficult, but needs to be considered. Fitting the doorbell is really easy with all the necessary bits and pieces,even including a drill bit and screwdriver. You fit a bracket and then clip and secure the doorbell to the bracket. Configuring the doorbell to access your WiFi is also pretty straightforward once you have installed the ezviz app on your phone. Once configured, the doorbell can link to the ezviz door chime using the wireless network. Video from the doorbell can be seen on the phone app, stored in the (subscription) cloud, or locally on a micro SD memory card. It is also possible to use an existing CCTV video recorder to store video from the doorbell (conditions apply). In summary, a great choice if you don't want to keep changing batteries and don't want to pay a monthly subscription.

I've been involved in IT since it's earliest days so I'm not new when it comes to installing items such as EZVIZ door cam, but the guide provided for the installation of the EZVIZ DB1C is possibly the worse I've ever come across. You won't be surprised to discover that not a hint is provided that a £90 professional installation is strongly recommended before you've purchased the damn thing, it's only after purchase that you're made aware of this important fact. Not only is the brief installation and user manual supplied with the camera wholly inadequate, but what the manual tells you're supposed to see on the Ezviz app screen and what you actually see on the screen bear little relation to one another. When running the app, pages after page pop up without a hint of what you're supposed to do or write. For example, no mention is made is made in the manual about the fingerprint recognition system (which doesn't work) used for logging in. As a further example of slap-dash packaging, the security plate covering for the SD card slot is secured with two grub screws but no suitable screwdriver with the correct bit is provided to remove the cover to enable you to insert the SD card, and yet, for some bizarre reason, you're provided with a masonry drill complete with wall plugs and screws for fixing the camera to brickwork, when in fact, in the vast majority of cases the camera will be fixed to the front door. Most unsettling of all is that calls on my mobile are routed through the door cam. For what possible reason would I want my private calls to be heard on the device fixed outside on my front door!!!! This even happens when the cam is not connected to the power supply. Again, no mention anywhere at all in the user guide as to how to disable this function. You have been warned. Waste your money on this piece of rubbish and it'll end up languishing in the drawer.

I'm a fan of Ezviz especially that no cloud is required and it has a built in card. It's effective and easy to use on the app. Alexander always tells me when there's someone at the door. Just as well as the in app video call no longer works. Big disappointment I can't answer the door on my phone now when I'm out. I have several Ezviz devices including cameras which are all great.

Get an expert to install, when it fitted you will know who's at your door when you are not home, it takes photos as well if you want, very happy with our purchase.

I bought this doorbell in January 2021. Installation wasn't difficult, it did work with existing wiring and chime on 12V AC. it did operate chime until a few days ago but unfortunately, it stops... it was only working as a phone call. After I disconnected it from wiring to test if its a problem with the chime or bell I find out the chime itself is fine. After connecting back to the wiring it never connected back to the wifi network therefore it doesn't work at all. attempted several resets but didn't manage to connect it back to wifi. Contacted amazon support and manage to get a return label for it. Sending it back today for a full refund. The video quality was good. the live view did work well including audio but video calls never worked since the new... connection always crashed. When somebody pressed the bell and I was away from home and wanted to talk to them and answered video call, the connection always crashed. if you opened live view it did work fine tho... I am happy I am getting a refund for it and going to buy a different brand bell...

This started out as a good door cam for use with my Blue Iris software. However a recent firmware update disabled the RTSP function resulting in it no longer working with Blue Iris. EZVIZ tech support claim that RTSP can be switched back on using their PC studio app via Advanced settings but after numerous exchanges of emails with them about this, those Advanced settings also no longer appear in their app and they have refused to give me a refund on my recently purchased door cam. I have since purchased a Reolink door cam which has a much better range of settings for Blue Iris and a generally better picture quality.

The item was fine, but still registered to whoever had it first so its of no use. Got a refund and ordered new, but figured I should warn anyone who considers buying this from Amazon Warehouse.
