Happy tush!
As we know how "comfortable" airline seats can be back in coach, I primarily decided on this seat cushion for a 9hr + airplane ride primarily because:1) I wanted an inflatable seat so I could pack it away when done and did NOT want "memory foam"2) I loved the 17" x 17" size of it compared to other inflatables - this seemed to fit most chair pans the best and I wanted coverage!3) and bonus, it came with a little hand pump (but as others wrote, it's not really needed)I got the blue cushion and it from all appearances once received, it appears to be made of a sturdy vinyl material and heat sealed rather well to make the waffle holes. As in other reviews, I found out that not fully inflating the cushion did just the job for me. Too much and it was as firm as a hard chair but 50 quick bumps, just where the cushion starts to fill out, was about accurate for me.Now to find the most comfort position for me:1. Did I want some support on the backside? (this pushed me too far forward for comfort in the airline seat)2. Did I want it some cushion under my knees so my tailbone had some space? (this didn't work for me either as felt I was sliding off the seat - and I'm 5'5". It might work for someone taller or with longer legs)3. Or did I just flat out want the cushion right under all of me?Option 3 worked after I wiggled around, adjusting it back and forth and found just having it right under me was the most comfortable. The 17"x17" fit just right on the airplane seat and after a 9 hr+ flight, I had no back issues (from my tailbone) from sitting upright or slightly reclined - YAY!Storage tip (see pictures): once deflated and flatten out, fold the cushion in thirds. Place the pump on the cushion and roll it up over the pump - the pump is secure within the cushion. Add a rubber band or hair band to secure. It now tucks away nicely in my backpack side zipper pocket!A "nice to have" would be about a 3" x 8" drawstring travel bag that fit the rolled up cushion with pump in middle, to help protect it.(An old sock would work for this also.)So far, one airline trip and I give this cushion 5 stars and look forward to using on other upcoming trips! Good Job EMSupply!

Great in the past.. not now
I have previously purchased this cushion and used daily for nearly 3 years; when that cushion started to leak air, I ordered another to replace it. I have had the current cushion just short of 9 months, and it no longer holds air. I contacted Amazon for a replacement, and they are having me return the defective item, and charging me a restocking fee.Needless to say, I've ordered a completely different item to replace this defective product.

Reasonable and Effective
My husband is stroke victim who was left with limited mobility. For the past 2 years I have watch him writhe and squirm in a never ending battle to be able to sit comfortably. He suffers from reoccurring pressure sores that have become an ongoing source of misery for him and frustration for me. I have tried everything. I have cushions of various shapes, sizes and material. They range in price from $100.00 to $1.50. They are webbed, puffy, feathered, quilted, spongie, foamed and liquid! They have all failed to help And in some cases have aggravated the problem. Our dog and cat even rejected most of these so called high tech therapeutic bum preservers! When I found this cushion, I was not at all hopeful as it looked like one of those cheap so called bath pillows that come with cliched bath products sold as basket gifts during the holidays. The pump looked like something that I would use to inflate a toddlers-wading pool. I decided to take a chance and blow another 20 away just in case it might work. I am amazed to report that the darned, silly looking thing works! As a matter of fact I’m going to order another one to keep in the car. The pressure sores are almost completely healed after just a few days and the writhing and squirming has stopped! Hope it works for everybody and that the price remains reasonable

Could Not Inflate
I bought this cushion to replace a similar one that my mother had received at the hospital, following her surgery.Based upon reviews here, I thought this cushion would be a simple matter to inflate....Well, it was just the opposite...The only instructions given were: “To inflate, simply take the air pump in hand and insert the nozzle into the valve”.I pumped and pumped for 45 minutes and only a tiny bit of air entered the cushion. Finally, the pump handle broke apart, leaving it all completely useless, and my arms aching, along with over $25 down the drain. I consider myself an intelligent individual who can follow instructions...so what was I missing? A special “trick” that everyone else seems to know? Or was this a defective product? Those of us who literally have no other family member or close friend to ask for help, are left in the dark. I wound up having to throw it all away, and purchase a different type of cushion made of foam, instead....How I wish that we could receive a refund for this product. :(

Cushion
Not comfortable at all, the vinyl material needs to be covered with a towel or blanket. I weigh 140 and am not heavy in the hip area; however I barely fit on the cushion. If you are a larger and/or heavier person, you may want to find something else.
