Having boarded an aeroplane ready to embark on a school trip to France, Alex (Devon Sawa) suddenly has a premonition that it will explode. He tries to convince his friends to disembark, causing so much trouble that he and six others are eventually ejected before take-off. Shortly afterwards, standing in the departure lounge, they see the plane destroyed in a mid-air explosion. Later, after three of the ejectees have died in strange circumstances, Alex becomes convinced that death feels cheated, and is now trying to collect back the debt. Can Alex convince his other friends of this before they too meet their untimely ends?

There is someone...walking behind you.
Watching this after so long was odd. It has a good concept and pretty good execution. It's a shame there are just so many of them and that they're filled with some big flaws. If your looking for teenage horror filled with some major cliche's of any teen film this is the one for you.The most upsetting death was the first one just cos it was horrifying and the fact the elements in it reacted the way they did....damn.Death has it's own sadistic game and it doesn't mind playing dirty for keeps. I think that's what makes this good, you never truly see death but it has it's own character and dark humour. I also have a suspicion of a certain character being at least favoured by the entity. Some aspects of this are sloppy, you never get a true answer to 'why is this happening' so it's up to speculation. Perhaps death just wanted to spice things up, perhaps god wanted to give them a chance. Who knows?

Still good
Watched it again after some years. Forgotten some of the scenes but still as good as when I first watched it. Itβs a classic. This was the best of the 5 destination films. Usually the first is the best. None of the other films could match this. Itβs scary when you see Alex get a premonition that the plane is going to crash and freaks out getting 7 of them kicked off the plane. I wouldn't need to be kicked off that plane, I'd be jumping off. It also made me wonder if Tony Todd, as a sinister mortician is the Grim Reaper giving them a warning. Lots of twists and turns.

Have You Ever Had Deja-Vu?!
Being made in 2000 its show casing the actor who played Stifler, (Billy), the year previously from American Pie.It seems to be in some film genres the director loves to make it glaringly obvious as to what is coming up : 'You take care of him.''Your birthday is the same as your departure time.' (09:25 = September 25th).Alex sees has a premonition of the aeroplane crashing and everyone dying in spectacular fashion. Therefore, he protests as the plane is about to take off and him, his two teachers, (one of which, Larry, the French teacher goes back on with the rest of the group) and some of his friends get chucked off the flight. They see the plane take off and the blow up in the sky! (In real life a plane wouldn't be able to leave quite so quickly though!)'I control my life, not you.. - I'm never gonna die!' - Well you don't need me to add anything to that..At this point events come into place to claim the lives of the remaining students who should have been killed in the aeroplane crash.Todd is accidentally asphyxiated in the bathroom.'In death there are no accidents, no incidents, no mishaps and no escapes. You have to realise we are all a mouse that a cat has by the tail.''I will not let the plane crash be the most important thing in my life.'Carter's girlfriend, Terry, gets run over by a bus!Following images on the news regarding the crash Alex works out the order that everyone will die in, (as they have done in the aircraft). (This is the central theme to the film as you will see).'Can I tell you something and don't take this the wrong way. - Sometimes you give me the creeps!''You're outta here, pretty soon you'll be gone!' - Some more glaringly obvious proleptic irony. Its then Miss Lewton's turn to die in under a catalogue of deadly errors.Billy is decapitated at a railway track. In the end sequence between Alex and Claire it is clear that it is some kind of love sequence. And fast forward to six months later..'You know I can't believe that we got on a plane again..'I love a good ending where the chaos continues!

I threw up in my mouth a little
Not bad for a 2000 flick with teen heart throb, Devon Sawa (aka Casper the Ghost). Had some really surprising moments, but overall felt that the cheese factor was a bit too nauseating. And seriously, why was that bully SO ANGRY? The rage was unnecessary and he got what he deserved. Perfect for making out to or baking banana bread.

Great film but not much of a Blu-Ray transfer
I think we have all seen this by now and know what its about so no need to write to much about the film, lets say the Blu-Ray quality could have been a lot better i didn't see much or any diffrent in picture or sound quality than the dvd version, i would recommend saving money and sticking to the dvd versions but if you love these films and have to upgrade then do so and see for yourself i sure hope there are better improvements on the sequels which i will watch shortly, but as for the movie 9/10 just genius and fun and gory if you havent seen it then you must watch it, it really is great.

Gulp!
Great franchise of movies! Gory though! Need a strong stomach. Having said that, still very enjoyable. Not one for the kids!!

Well my Brother bought this without my permission so he better had of enjoyed it!
My thoughts are in the headline! ππTo be honest, I watched this years ago and it was a weirdly fun film. Easy plot to follow. He would have been better hiding in a bubble wrap padded room, naked so there was no way a washing line would randomly strangle him. ππ

THE GRIM REAPER AT WORK?
The first Final Destination movie and in my opinion - the best! The Grim Reaper or amazingly bad luck ... . you decide.
