The 13 Gates of the Necronomicon: A Workbook of Magic (Necronomicon Series, 5) Paperback – July 8, 2010

I believe that the people who reviewed this work misunderstood what Tyson was trying to do.First this book is not a Grimoire he actually tells you to go to his version of the Necronomicon if you want to get a series of rites and magical formula. In this work he brings forth a ritual that he made, then he brings up the material that he used to create the ritual. This is a work book not a book of spells. He wanted the people to actually do research and develop there own work by taking Lovecraft's work of fiction. I really liked this book while I do not see my self working the rite that he created I did see the pattern to which he made, Keys, gates, etc made since after I got done reading this tome.second, Yes this is a catalog of Lovecraft's work but it has also been put there that the practicing magician can put together his own work. This has been lost at this modern time. People nowadays just find rites on the Net or by books and just blindly go through those rituals. The lost art of magic creation is a lost art form. Most originality is gone and this book brings back this.third, There is a few books out there that tells the practicing magician to create interesting magic that resonates your personal paradigm,by using works of fiction. This holds true for example in chaos magic. Here Tyson does that same I started working of several small rites that I made from this bookLast, I believe he wanted the user of the book to also read these stories for him/herself and see what he did.Some of you guys may not agree with me but I really like this book. It was good as a source for lovecrafts work but also a inspiration for your own magic that he wanted the user to develop his/her own spells and rituals.

Awesome book! Would recommend to those gifted at astral projection who enjoy exploring strange locations and communicating with other-worldly beings. Simple and effective ritual outline, as well as lots of information on all manner of things related to the Necronomicon Mythos. Note: The ritual has an intense effect on dreams, and it is useful to write down any experiments with the gates.

A really fat Necronomicon for a really nice price! However since all Tyson Necronomicon products are mass-produced, they have little-to-no resale value. Also it says in the title, "A Workbook Of Magic" but it's really just full of eldritch correspondences & occult info & not much in the way of actual rituals or spellwork besides creative visualization! As workbooks of Magick for Necronomicon i would recommend, The Nocturnicon, Necronomicon Gnosis, The Pseudonomicon, or for the advanced; the rare VOLUBIS EX CHAOSIUM.. That doesn't mean that 13 Gates isn't enjoyable tho. It's very intriguing, has cool illustrations, & introduces the idea of Necronomicon not just as a book or type of book, but as a place in the Astral Plane! i like this idea & agree w/it. TYSON is a good occult writer & his Necronomicon series is quickly becoming one of the most authoritative sources of Necronomicon!

I really like it, its a good read, but with completely different origin, and story on previous works on the same subject, would recomened for a good read to someone who knows the lore already established by other authors. but if u know nothing about the necronomicons that are available elsewhere, would just be confusing. would start with the older lore and mythos first!

HP Lovecraft wrote some very weird stories. These stories were written in his style of horror.

Very informative. A nice addition to the Necronomicon really helps with the understanding of the gates! Very well written! Nice sigals!

for sure it is absolutely the most amazing grimoire ever,,,this is for sure the grimoire of the northern god,,, MERLIN,,,THE FORGOTTEN GRIMOIRE OF STONEHEINGE,,, IN UKTHE GATES TO ZODIAC SPHERESI WOULD NEVER PUBLISH THAT TINGS,,, ITS AN OFFENCE TO EVERYTING LIVING,,I CONSIDER MYSELF VERY LUCKY FOR POSSESSING IT
