I bought this radio because my old one succumbed to lead acid batteries withering, then dead. So I set out to find a replacement with long-lasting lithium Ion batteries. That narrowed down choices by quite a bit.Next I found that the best-selling (cheaper) radio did not allow the emergency broadcast function to be deactivated. This is a great idea if you are camping in an Arizona mountain ravine—but the emergency test every Wednesday morning becomes very annoying in a home situation.This is a great radio. Small and light. Simple turnoff button. Battery life great. Crank charging awesome. Tuning sharp. My only negative comment is that it has way too many bells and whistles which most of us over 60 will never be be able to master.

SD card easily replaceable.There are different equalizer functions for different music. It does make a difference.Built in file reader for .txt files is ok. Apple files not tested. Still sounds good in the office.Wish it had a bigger screen and place to carry the USB charging cable.Could use better manual and manual reference built into the radio, readable on the screen.

Super light weight, durable, solar charges works great. Could use a few more controls, as switching between modes and function with the available buttons is a bit clunky and the user interface freezes once in awhile. The hand crank charger works, but plan on cranking for a LONG time. Sound quality is just fine for a small radio, and battery life is decent.

The Kaito KA700 packs a ton of handy & useful features for any emergency or daily use. The NOAA weather and AM/FM reception isstrong and speaker sound is exceptional for its' size and weight. the four (4) way power source allows for multiple power backup functions.I bought one for my new neighbor as a house warming gift...and it makes a great gift for any occasion. This radio is highly recommended, anda great value for the price. The integrated LED reading lamp is bright and long lasting...the built in micro voice recorder is fun and easy to use and can be set up for scheduled entries. The clock feature allows for alarm settings ...and Bluetooth connection is intuitive to use andsound quality outstanding. The KA700 by Kaito offers a lot of useful functions at a reasonable price.

I received this item today and was testing and figuring everything I could out. I set the date and time which is pretty cool and seeing all the other settings. I saw some of the reviews, but they were not entirely true. It has pretty good speakers, and even with the Bluetooth too. I am not even sure I put it at the max volume, so that is pretty cool. Although, when I was playing the Radio with the antenna all the up it fell of my couch and busted a bit. Sadly it fell on the arena damaging it, which I tried to fix and did but not all the way. It can go down but not all the way so that is a bummer. I am seeing if i can get it replaced since it's not that big cost of fixing and replacing it. I wanted to give it 5 stars because it's a really cool idea and pretty neat. However, it could be more sturdy making it more durable... :/

this product is amazing compared to other radios I've used the am reception is beyond words the am reception is amazing I tested the alert function and it works great the weather band works as it should, the reading light is great to its bright lights up a decent amount the flashlight is nice its bright it works, i also love the am fm recorder incase something cool is happenning so yeah the digital display works fine yeah all around great radio

Don't buy for the price point of $79.95. I've tried multiple methods to charge the battery and it won't hold a charge. I liked the ergonomics and the ease to use. However, I don't have time to replace the defective battery or call the random call center printed from my user manual years ago. This would be like buying a survival gun. After your first it malfunctions in the worst possible situation. I expected better reliability from the battery for the price point I paid.

An emergency caused me to get this radio; I am so glad I did. Great sense of security with it. All features advertised were verified; everything works great.

I purchased this and radio thinking that it would be a quality after using it. It appears the battery will only last for between 4–5 hours when the radio is used on low volume. I contacted kaito customer services and the response I got back was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I explained the problem with the radio and that the battery is 18650 battery should last longer than this is the response I got back was that this is normal and that” if I want a longer run time, I should consider buying myself a bigger battery” this is not except for a new product. I purchased this after reading there products back where it clearly states “ after charging the radio will last for days “ and after replying to the email, they have not even have the courtesy to reply. My advice is to avoid this company and their product at all costs a total rip-off, and misleading information on their webpage.
