Spice and Wolf, Vol. 5

I've been enchanted by this story since I came across the anime not long ago. Wanting more of the story I quickly found these novels. I have not been disappointed with any of the five volumes to date. The basic story of boy meets girl is placed on its edge, not by the unique "nature" of the girl, but instead but the unique perspective of the boy, a traveling merchant. I am constantly surprised by how interesting the intricacies of being a merchant are made. That said, the interplay of Spice and Wolf is also quite well done, even if I sometimes pity the Spice. All in all, a great and engaging story.

Without spoiling too much, this is the best book yet. There are significant developments in the relationship between Holo and Lawrence, and realizations about what's important on the journey. The plot is compelling with wonderful dialogue. The ending is not a cliffhanger, but portends future stories, which makes it an even harder wait until the next entry in the series.Note also that this is equivalent to the second half of Spice and Wolf II (anime series).

I discovered this series through the anime (which was done fantastically, almost word for word from the light novels). After they stopped making the anime and I found out about the light novels, I knew I just had to start reading them. The characters are written SO well, and reading the little insights and the thoughts of Lawrence made me fall in love with the series all over again. No other movie, series, book, etc. has captured me quite like this one has, I’ll be a fan till the end and long after besides.

Very good series, has an in depth plot and interesting economics. Relations between the two main characters are deep and amusing. Compare to Archenemy x Hero

I assume at this point you know what you are buying as this is the 5th volume, so theres no need to convince you to buy it for the story.But I will let you know that I received it in perfect condition and in great time.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my son, he loved the anime and wanted the light novels to read and see how they were compared to the show. The price for the book brand new was a very good price and it was shipped very fast.

It drags me in painfully and without the barest hint of remorse. My only wish is that the journey of this book did not end

The story of Spice and Wolf continues in its epic tale. The edition has good detail in business and trade explanation. These books are actually a great breakdown of the flaws of governance over trade, and shows why Libertarian free market tendencies would allow cleaner trade and business.

My favorite volume so far. It is really delightful to read this mix of business, romance and historical drama.The business part is as exciting and intriguing as always making you want yo keep reading to find out how it is going to end, what kind of plot they'll use and what can you learn from it without even noticing.The development of the relationships between mcs is well managed and the romantic part of the story is done in such a nice way that it difficult to stop reading.

It's a Spice and Wolf book. What's not to love!
