Works great except for the slide, doesn’t drop in thickness

It's making mine life way much easier :)
I was so happy to find THIS mini mandolin online! First one I bought in Aldi (the same producer Joie) - I'm not even sure 2-3 years ago, and since then I'm using it almost every day. Mostly to slice an onion to mine salads ;p . It's good for hard, root vegetables as carrots, radish, parsnips. I don't remember if I ever used that veg holder (or whatever it is), but I've never used anything like this on other graters or mandolin. This one I've purchase not because my first one is not sharp enough or broke down after few years. Nope, it's for mine sister :D because I'm sure she will like it as I am .PS on photo - strawberry slices (nah - better use knife), shallot and radishI used my old mandolin

Doesn’t slice anything
As many others have noted, this mandolin doesn’t work. Its blade appears to be too close and simply can’t slice anything, just turning everything into mush. I had an identical one that was recently lost in a move. Same brand, same model, and it worked perfectly!! It’s blade perfectly sliced cucumbers, carrots, and radishes. I don’t know what they did to change it, but the new one ended up in the garbage due to my annoyance.

This is truly a mini slicer. Not very useful.
This, is actually, a "mini" mandoline slicer, which is different from Joie's other hand mandoline slicer. Its slice is actually see-through - thin like tissue paper. Can't really see much use for something that this. I have none. I thought I was ordering another of the little Joie slicer I already owned. I love it. Use it everyday but it is bigger in size and depth of slice. :-(
