LEGO Star Wars Anakin's Y-Wing Starfighter (8037)

This Lego is one of the new sets for children who are adept at creating with legos. They are required to follow directions and perform steps in sequence to make the many-pieced air ship. As soon as my 8-year old grandson opened the Anakin's Y-wing Starfighter he left the rest of his gifts to immediately begin making the Lego set. He also permitted his younger brother to assist with the assembly, which was wonderful to see as the older one showed himself to be a patient teacher.I was concerned about paying so much for Legos, but his response and delight at receiving the set assured me that I made the right decision. Again, a great, colorful, well-made Lego set with good instructions. He is so proud of creating this great looking model!

Our five year old grandson is seriously into Lego and Star Wars and asked for this for his birthday. Although he couldn't assemble it himself, he was able to follow the diagrams and push in the pieces with help from his Grandad. They spent many happy hours putting it together and the directions were clear and easy to follow. Of course, he is now enjoying playing with it.

This Lego system is fairly expensive ($62.95) but it has three figures that make it exciting: R2D2, Anakin, and another figure. My grandson loves it. The 3 figures that are included really make the whole starfighter exciting and he could not wait to build it. When I ordered the Lego box from Amazon, I was not exactly prepared for the speediest delivery imaginable because I know that Amazon handles beaucoups of purchases daily. The original date of delivery was exceeded by 2 days and that did take any concern about December delivery away. The Lego system was packaged according to categories and that made it so easy for my grandson to get things together. Since he had several plane trips to take to return home, the Legos packed easily. It was a great gift for a traveling kiddo. Thanks to Amazon to making it easy on a Grandma.

I do not own this set but i have seen it. The reason I give this review is because ANAKIN NEVER HAD A Y WING. Lego needs to understand the starwars story line. Y wings didnt come until episode 4-5-6 when anakin was vader. Also it is way ou of proportion. The wings are too high up and too close to the body. But the main oint is ANAKIN NEVER HAD A Y WING!!!!!

My 11 year old son loves legos! The more pieces that better for him!! This was on sale and part of the reason that we purchased it. Unfortunately this was "not" one of his favorite legos. He completed it in 2 days...and it does not hold together well...many pieces kept falling off. He was a little disappointed after doing this one.

I love Lego's but they just don't stay together very well. It took my grandson 4 times to get 3/4 of the way finished before he threw the Lego's against the walls. Too high a price for a toy that gets put in a drawer and this is the third Lego set we have had a hard time getting to stay together after building them. My grandson has a knack for building and at 7 can put these together alone so it isn't his skill that is the problem. I have thought about super gluing them in place. Fortunately he likes to use his imagination and build his own creations. Price is too high. Pieces can be easily lost.

My 5 year old son bought this with birthday money. He LOVES it.We have built the ship twice. He will keep it as a star ship for a day or two and then pulls it apart and starts making new ships with it. He loves the storage compartment for light sabers and that there is a bullet you can shoot from the bottom.The instructions are easy enough for him to follow, but he does better with an adult helping him find the pieces.We have had it about a month and I would say it is one of his favorite toys right now. He says he loves is way better than the other legos he has that just build houses and other ordinary objects. He has been carrying around the Lego catalog for a month showing me the other sets he needs.I would highly recommend themed legos to anyone with boys.

My son got this lego set for his 8th birthday. Some lego sets stay built better than others, and this set seems to stay built fairly well. There is also room for more than one minifigure, so he can play with it and create dialog without having to have other sets.
