Poor Quality for a Wilton
The base was poorly machined, it was like it was dunked in the paint, it had several layers of uneven paint, one of the bolt holes was fully blocked with paint. I ended up sandblastint the base and repainting it. The jaw of the vice is uneven, it will do the job, but it is unbalanced to look at. The paint on the top part of the vice is a little scuffed for a new vice as well, I am also dissapointed with the price considering the quality. When I unpacked it, I thought it was a second hand vice. On a positive, the delivery time from Amazon was very quick.

Poor manufacturing
The base of the vise (not the swivel) is dreadful in its machining and casting. It's made in the Czech republic and honestly I'm sure the Chinese would build with much better quality.Functionality is good but I thought I was getting a quality Wilton vise.

Poor example of Wilton craftsmanship.
Wilton has a strong reputation for quality and this little vise certainly isn't cheap. It is, however, a far cry from the quality of other Wiltons.Mine arrived with scuff and chips, which I think is common for any vise after shipping. The finish is clearly sprayed on all at once with the vise fully assembled. The paint is oversprayed onto the swivel washers and bolts, with the red base coat showing under them. The rest of the paint is sloppily applied where they made some attempt to mask things like the jaws. The internals are where thing thing really fails. The barrel of the movable jaw looked like it was shaped by an angle grinder. The alignment pins were completely asymmetrical and very rough, which made opening and closing the jaws very difficult. Every part of the inside was rough and sharp, which means nothing moves smoothly. To get mine to work at all, I had to fully disassemble it and hand sand the moving jaw barrel smooth. I also had to drift out both alignment pins so they could be filed smooth and adjusted so they were aligned with the keyway on the movable jaw barrel. I also had to stone the mating faces of the swivel base, as they were rough and slid against each other very poorly. After around an hour of work, it is fairly usable, but still nowhere near what you'd expect with the Wilton brand and price.

Poor quality
The base fits the vise very poorly. The slots to swing the vise are cast in the base with no attempt to clean up the casting. The jaws are difficult to open and close because the fit is very poor. After disassembly, cleaning out all the shavings, sanding and refitting various parts it is “better.” Overpriced for the quality of the tool.
