Direct replacement for my washing machine. Easy 15 minute install.

Part did not have a new control knob and I can not find one for this timer. Other than that I am completely satisfied with my purchase,and would order from this company again if needed.

As others have noted, this unit does not have the mounting holes threaded. Annoying, but I bought it with that advance knowledge. The metal is soft enough that I pre-started the screws half-way before installation. Backed them out, mounted unit, re-started the screws, and then cranked them down. Easy. As far as I can tell, it is a perfect one-for-one unit. Others remarked that the timer markings are slightly off, but I did not see that problem at all. Hint when removing the old unit, back spin the control knob and it screws right off … do not pry it up as it is indeed threaded.

I needed a replacement for my broken Timer Control 3358741B and double checked this replacement using Amazon's Make Sure This Fits feature and also on other websites such as Appliance Parts Pros. Also cross checked the timer control number 3946439B that appears on the part itself. Every cross check agreed this was a good replacement.Problems came when trying to install the new part. The existing part has two threaded holes in the top that mount the timer with machine screws. This replacement part had the holes, but they had no threads. I found a 10-32 tap and tapped new threads. Then completed the installation and everything works fine.This is likely just a manufacturing oversight, but if you receive a similar problem part and don't have the necessary tools or skills (or a handy friend) then you have a real problem and would have to return the part.

The part fit perfectly except the mounting holes had to be tapped out. Which most diy wouldn’t be able to do. What’s up with Amazon and the manufacturing company to let this continue after so many reviews mention this problem.
