Marvel-ous collection
Marvel brought out 23 issues of this title from the mid 70s and I had about 20 of them and they had been languishing somewhere at my dad's home where I'd left them when i left home in the 90s. My Avengers, Spider-Man and Hulk issues all made the move with me as they were still ongoing titles but Ms Marvel didn't come with me as it's run had ended long ago and i saw no further need for them. And in the passing years I barely gave them a passing thought. Then i spotted the two epic collections and decided to revisit an old friend. Now the writing and artwork is of it's time, nothing groundbreaking but i prefer the less cluttered and easier to follow artwork of yesteryear and the stories were entertaining enough to keep my interest. Also included are a few issues of other comic books that Ms Marvel guested in including a two part Marvel TeamUp drawn by John Byrne, one of my favourite writer/artists.If you're looking for the grittier storytelling and complex and glorious artwork of todays Marvel output, this book may not be for you but if you enjoy a nice simple tale with solid art this will be right up your street.

Important TPB to read before Part II of the Avengers Infinity war movie...
As Captain Marvel is going to be an important part of the finale of Avengers vs. Thanos, and her movie will be a prelude to the Avengers movie, for anyone not familiar with Carol Danvers and her turn into a super heroine, this is required reading. The Original Captain Marvel was a male, however, this edition tells the story of how SHE came to be the Earth friendly Kree Warrior.....Glorious 70s comic art, which is so clear and easy to follow, just like the storyboards for movies, is done mainly with John Buscema and Jim Mooney's splendid artwork, with the great embellishment of FF stalwart, Joe Sinnott.....

Book came shipped in a very sturdy cardboard box...
... which is VERY good to see. I bought this from Amazon Australia and so far they have never let me down with the quality of service and effort they go to in order to make sure you get exactly what you pay for. A brand new book in perfect condition. I sadly cannot say h same for books I have to order from Amazon US... who think sending a book in a plastic bag is protection enough... it is not. I constantly see reviews of damaged books delievered by the US warehouses, they need to learn you save more time and money if you simply make an effort. As for the book, I bought it because it was on sale and very cheap for an Epic collection title, so cannot pass that up as a volume 1... but also as a Birthday gift for my girlfriend to get her into american comics, she is a manga nerd. We both hated Captain Marvel the movie, so I wanted her to experience the character before she got destroyed in favour of pushing an agenda. The bet place to start is with Chris Claremont, the creator, the guy is a god tier writer in Marvel comics.... anyways, the I bought it as a joke to see the cringe on her face, to which was very amusing... but after reading the quality within I may have converted her over to classic marvel comics. Give it a shot, as far as female heroes go, she is up there... well she used to be, modern comics are trash, stick with the classics.

Must-Have edition for collectors
This edition is great for collectors. It collects issues #1-14 from the first Ms. Marvel run, written by Chris Claremont and Gerry Conway. The spine came a little bended and it left a mark.
