CRKT Mossback Bird & Trout Fixed Blade Knife with Sheath: Hunting and Outdoor Knife, Black Drop Point Blade, G10 Handle, Nylon Sheath 2832

The Knife arrived on time. It was exactly what was advertised, and what I needed for cleaning trout. The the knife felt really good in the hand either blade up or down grip. It’s smaller size makes it perfect for trout. A paring knife is probably the beast size knife for trout and this, I feel, is the sporting equivalent. The sheath provided, though not leather, does the job. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. It’s mor than worth the price.

This guy is very well made & comes with great edge on it. I own quite a few CRKT knives & find them all well made, durable and sharp. I think they are excellent tools at a good price. As for this critter, I've used it on a bunch of pheasants last season. Worked great and the edge is still sharp. Barely need a touch up after about a dozen birds. The grip is nicely made & feels very good in the hand. No slipping. I have not used it on trout yet, but now that spring has sprung, I plan to! Recommended!

Overall, this is a great knife. Handle is exactly as described, blade is small and sharp. Personal preference on feel, I wish the handle were just slightly thicker for a more secure grip, but on the light birds, it doesn't really cause any issues.

I was expecting at least a semi sharp knife when I got it since it was 40 sum dollars. I was very disappointed when I found out it was duller then knives I’ve bought for 1/4 of the money. Will not be purchasing from this company again..

Light. Decent sheath that keeps with trim and light theme. Whether held with a finger over the blade or like a pencil as I was trained to use a scalpel it feels good. No experience with edge holding or ease of sharpening but so far so good.

I purchased the Mossback hunter as well, and am very happy with both knives. The bird & Trout came very sharp right out of the box. Handle is good and allows for a good grip. I was prepared to hate the nylon sheath but it ain't bad. CRTK has a leather sheath available for both knives for sale separately on their website but both are out of stock. Would have preferred the leather sheath came with the knife, but we will see if they become available again.For both mossback models, I think they are good knives for the money. No frills, just solid performers.

I wish that it had a sharp spine and a better sheath but besides that it is perfect. It came shaving sharp, Yes I tried. The quality is exactly what you would expect from a crkt. I was over all satisfied with this knife considering I can't afford a tom krein custom.

Great knife that is well made. The holster/sheath leaves a little to be desired.
