This lunchbox is fantastic!! It makes taking lunch to work everyday ...
This lunchbox is fantastic!! It makes taking lunch to work everyday a whole lot less boring. I own a bunch of bento type lunchboxes and this is definitely one of my favorites if not my favorite! This box holds PLENTY of food! I normally do not like to eat a lot of food at lunchtime but when I am feeling really hungry this box is great. The sections hold quite a bit. They are deep enough to hold a decent amount in each spot. The long section at the top will fit a cheese stick with some room, and you can even fit a yogurt tube in there if you bend it! The small circular section will hold a whole packet of fruit snacks or gushers, and it is deep enough to stick a few tootsie rolls in as well. I also love to use the circular section to hold dips such as ranch or peanut butter as it holds the perfect amount! The two medium sections at the right are great for chips, some of the larger chips need to be broken up to fit but you can still fit a good amount in there. The medium sections will also fit half an apple or half a banana quite nicely! The larger section will fit 6 pieces of sushi, a good portion of pasta, and even a few whole hot dogs. I read that some other reviewers had a hard time fitting a sandwich in this box, but I was able to to fit a sandwich in the largest section just fine when I cut it in half (see images).I have not had any issues with leaking but I always keep my box upright so I am not sure if it would leak if placed on its side or tossed around. The clasp works nicely and is easy to open and close. The design of this lunchbox is awesome!I LOVE that you can wash the tray of this box in the dishwasher. When I first got it I always put the tray in the dishwasher but noticed that that made it a little frosty looking in the crevices that run around the edges. I do not like the way that looked so I only wash mine by hand now and no longer have that problem. Sometimes food will get stuck in the rubber lines on the lid, this is easily removed with a toothpick or even your nail. The yumbox tapas really is a fantastic box for adults or children with large appetites! The only thing that is slightly annoying is the fact that you can not microwave it but you can always put food into silicone muffin liners and then into the sections. This way you can remove the liner with the food in it and microwave. I personally do not mind cold food most of the time so this is not a big deal for me. I would recommend this box to everyone!

Daughter loves it
I bought our first Yumbox 3 years ago when they came out with their first design. They are very well designed and we've never had a leakage problem (although we don't tend to put overly wet foods in there). The original design had fewer sharp corners at the bottoms of the plastic trays but held less food. The newer design is more space-efficient so they hold more food, but the trade-off is that you have to be more diligent about getting to the bottoms of those corners to clean it out. They also redesigned the silicone lids so there is a narrow channel between two thin strips of silicone. I am concerned those thin channels will tend to grow mold, so I have been soaking the lids in a distilled vinegar-water solution weekly. In terms of size and the amount of food they hold, my second daughter is 5 and still using the original Yumbox design. My almost 7-year-old was finishing her entire lunch and saying she was hungry at the end of the day so I had her temporarily use her brother's Yumbox Original (second generation, which holds slightly more than their first design) and she was still coming home with an empty lunch. Now she is not finishing her entire lunch, so I know at least she has enough to eat. She loves the pretty blue color. And even with the larger size, it still fits in her PackIt Freezable Upright Lunch Box (Lunch box measures 10.2” H x 7” W x 4” D (1.7” H x 10.2“ W x 7.6” D when folded).

Awesome lunchbox, but my particular one has leaked
I LOVE my yumbox. It's the third we've purchased at our house. However, this is the first one that I've had that DOES leak. I think it's something wrong with this specific unit. That's the only reason I had to knock it down a star. I put some artichoke dip in the center and it leaked out into the lunch box it was in. However, I use this nearly every day. I love my lunchbox, I just wish it wouldn't leak like my others and like it was advertised. Thanks for making a product my family uses every day!

Mom and baby both approve
Bought this to send with our 2 year old to daycare as they do not provide any food. Mom loads it up every morning with cut chicken, pasta, fruit, goldfish, etc.. I know little guy likes it too because he calls it "my lunchbox" as I've seen him fish it out of the insulated bag we pack everything in and ask for us to open it so he can munch on his leftovers in the evening. Basically its just a fun way to send him off every day with the food we want for him.
