Solid addition to camping/hiking gear
This review is coming from someone that has not used one of these before, but has extensive air mattress experience.I have not used this on a camping trip yet, but my initial thoughts are that this will do nicely. It really does inflate to a level that would be comfortable for a longer period of time. I used to sleep on air mattresses a lot and have really run the gamut on those. The problem an air mattress has is that it loses air and once that happens, even a little for me, it becomes very uncomfortable. The Comfort Series here does not have that problem. It not only has stayed completely inflated for about 2 weeks now, it is firm yet soft enough while laying on it that I can see it will work very well. The main difference between this and a traditional air mattress is the solid feeling this has compared to an air mattress. Air mattresses mostly feel like rafts with a sheet on them. They are much better than the ground but are cold, like the ground, and really can be noisy and not stable with 2 people on them. I always feel the other person moving around. What I enjoy most about this thing is that it is small, lightweight, and takes no extra equipment. About 10 breaths from me after its own inflation gets the pad to where I like it. This is a breeze to setup and not tough to store away. The most impressive thing to me is the lack of air loss. This obviously is not using as much air as an air mattress but it is using enough that I would notice if it leaked. Again 2 weeks later and no detectable air loss. That is UNBELIEVABLE!!!If you are new to these types of things, do not expect a 5 star bed to sleep on. It is not that, but that is also not what it is supposed to be. It is a small convenient "bed" that would be best used for a few days or a week camping and hiking for the average person. Temper your expectations of the comfort level and you will be happy with the product. If you think it might "feel like a bed" you will not like the product. Know what it is and know what it is for and use it for those purposes and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better deal than this product. I have heard about better versions of this product, but for twice the price. I have not used those products but I cannot imagine them being $100 better. They may be better, but not that much. It is kind of like comparing hammers. A hammer is a hammer. You can make some improvements on the ergonomics, and the construction of the product, but there really is a breaking point on what you can improve and how incrementally small it gets at a certain point. If you are on a budget and need something dependable, this is your product.I recommend whole-heartedly.

High quality but too firm
High quality but uncomfortable. The materials are excellent quality and they roll up compact and lightweight, but they are too firm for me. If you let out some air to sink in then you'll feel the ground. I need a mattress I can sink into because I have lower back pain. The Intex Dura Beam air mattress is the solution.

Great ground pad
This is a pretty awesome ground pad. When I got it I let it inflate for 24 hours to see if it would self inflate, which it did. It took time the first time it self inflated but when I used it camping 2 days later it was a lot faster. Like most ground pads though (self inflating or not) you generally have to help it by blowing it up some. So when I went camping it inflated almost all the way but I still blew it up some. It was very comfortable and I couldn't feel the ground at all. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the width, it is a little more narrow then my sleeping bag. Still I would reccomend getting this ground pad. It deflates really easily and it comes with a nice stuff sack.

Poor Quality Air Valve "Leaks"
Leaked air after two weeks though the air valve, Now Want Hold Air. The air valve seems very cheap quality compared to the rest of the sleeping pad. Been sleeping on Thermarest Basecamp for years and thought I would try something different. You get what you pay for in sleeping pads. Cheap VS Quality.

Solid air mattress
I used this mat for a music festival where I'd be sleeping in a tent for 5 nights. While my friends were complaining about sleeping on the ground, I was relatively comfortable on this pad and got as good a sleep as I could've hoped for. My only complaints, which are minor are that its a little narrow so I did fall off occasionally. But considering it has to be portable that wasn't a big deal. And it didn't keep air in it for more than a day so I did have to blow it up a little bit each night before I went to bed. It did stay inflated throughout the night so that's all that really matters. Overall very happy I bought this pad and would recommend it to anyone for extended camping trips.

Good mattress
I used the self-inflating matress for a recent 6-night camping trip. The mattress inflated very easily with the valve opened. It was very stable and comfortable under the sleeping bag. I am not giving it 5 starts as I could not deflate it fully and roll it tight. You need to keep the valve open to let the air out as you roll/press on the mattress but with both hands used in rolling the mattress, it was not possible to control/shut the valve effectively to prevent the air from getting right back in! I kept the original plasic bag to put the rolled mattress in but could not roll it compactly enough. Perhaps there is another way to let the air out fully?

A nice pad
I got the regular size for backpacking and it is just what I was looking for. I've used it on one 2 night trip so far. It's very comfortable, high quality, has a good air valve and inflates well, it's fairly light weight as far as these types of pads go, and I thought the price was reasonable. I have wide shoulders and the regular size is a little narrow when I'm sleeping on it, but that's normal for backpacking pads like these - so they'll fit on my pack better. A tip for rolling it up so it's compacted tightly: roll it up as good as you can then close the air valve. Then unroll it and roll it up again so the remaining air is concentrated near the valve, then open the air valve again and roll the remaining air out, then close the valve again. If I don't update my review, then it has continued to serve me well!

Not Self Inflating...Disappointed
I purchased this as a Christmas gift and we opened it up on Christmas morning to try it out and it did NOT self inflate. We followed all the instructions, opened the valve and waited. And waited. It barely sucked in any air at all and even when I blew into it to try and fill it up the rest of the way and it still wouldn't inflate all the way at the bottom. I had high hopes because I have their other product that I love, but needed a self inflating mattress for a family member who has disabilities. This was not the one to fill that niche for me.
