Eyewitness Workbooks Human Body (DK Eyewitness Workbook)

In my opinion, as a teaching tool, the DK books are always spot on! Detailed targeted subject information and illustrations provided hold the interest for kids and adults!

This workbook seems to have all the basics & a little bit more. The pictures& illustrations are really good, which helps to keep my son engaged & focused.this is our third eyewitness workbook; we've also done the planet Earth, and Rocks and Minerals. We have found them all equally instructional and engaging.

This has great illustrations but the whole format is odd. 7 pages of reading crammed with oddly arranged facts. Then a bunch of pages of activities mixed with little informational blobs.The activities are obviously aimed at young school kids. In my opinion, the activities are the only reason to buy this book & why I'm giving it 3 stars.Finally 6 pages of quizzes (with answer keys in the back) that ask an odd combination of concepts and trivia. Neither the quizzes nor the answer key tear out so it's harder to grade.Stylistically it's aimed at younger kids, info wise it's a bit much for younger kids but not advanced enough for middle/high school. It comes across as some teacher's lesson plan ideas thrown haphazardly together to be sorted out later for use in a class of kids. It's just so poorly thought out. Even my older kiddo complained about how disorganized it seems.But if you really just want a bunch of human body related activities, then this might be good for you and your elementary aged child.
