Durable, easy to use, and quite addictive!
LOVE these labels! One of the best additions to my band's studio! We use these to label every cable in our studio - and I mean EVERY cable - on both ends!!!Once I started using these, I was hooked, and I probably got a little carried away! Now every cable in the studio is color-coded by instrument type (vocals, drums, etc), and the label tells you what the cable is being used for (person, instrument, channel number, etc). I set it up so that anyone who wants to help us out at a show can easily figure out where each cable goes, and what to connect it to (and whether to connect to an input or an output!). Our set up time is greatly reduced, since someone can grab a box of cables and say, "Okay, this cable goes to the drummer, and it has a yellow label. I'll just grab all the yellow ones and put them near the back of the stage." No need to count them, no need to remember how many drum mics we have. Simple! If a cable fails, just grab a white one - those are the backups!I never tried using these with a printer, as I don't have one in my band's studio. They work great with a fine point Sharpie, and the black ink is readable on all five colors, with no smearing. These are strong enough to handle being transported in a case full of cables for gigs without falling off. I have not had any labels come off so far in nearly two months (edit: five years!) of use. If you pull fairly hard, however, you can pull them off a cable without too much hassle. I've had to do it a few times, because...1) It takes some practice to get these on straight, and2) If you're not careful, you might put the label too close to the cable, meaning you can't wrap the thinner part of the sticker all the way around the cable. I'm sure that doesn't make any sense in text, but you'll know exactly what I'm talking about the first time you get it wrong!Overall, I'm very impressed by these labels. If I ever somehow manage to use several hundred of them (haven't even finished one full page yet), I'll definitely buy again!EDIT: Nearly three years later, and I haven't even used half of these! I've labelled and re-labelled every cable in the studio multiple times whenever I feel like organizing in a different way. Now the cables are color coded by person (My cables are blue, the lead guitarist is yellow, etc). Our drummer wanted his mics in all different colors, so we did that too. We also have one set of cables just for rehearsal, and one set for gigs, so we added an extra white label on the "leave these in the band room" cables. It's very easy to get carried away with these labels....EDIT 2: Now five years later. I'm actually running out of a couple colors, somehow! Looks like I have to actually keep my promise of buying these again. Some of the original labels from 5 years ago are probably still on some cables, but the older ones definitely look worn out (though they are still attached - I NEVER had an issue with a label falling off).

So glad I tried these
After reading some people's so-so reviews I still chose to give these a shot. Simply put, they are awesome. I have so many areas of my home that are nexuses of incomprehensible tangles of cords and cables. It is only with annoying persistence that I have been able to eventually track each plug back to it's rightful owner. These labels solve that problem completely. They are perfectly sized. They are incredibly easy to affix to each cord. They attach securely with no fear that they can possibly come loose. They are also tear-resistant. After testing them out a little I know there is no way that they will tear or be damaged through anything resembling normal use and wear-and-tear. If a label does get damaged then I must have done something pretty crazy to cause it to happen. I like the variety of colors as well. It's not necessary, but I find it does make the organization of my cords a little better. The only real concern that I feel as though should be mentioned is what has already been mentioned by others here. They offer templates in 2 different ways on the website. They offer a MS Word template. I tried this method first. I am very computer-literate, but after a small but significant period of time I could not get this template to work properly, so I moved on to their web input interface on their site. When doing it this way I had no problems whatsoever. It was as simple as could be. I saved the resultant file as a .pdf, opened using Adobe Acrobat, and then changed the paper size to A4 and made sure that no options affecting the output, such as a 'Fit to Page' option were selected. It printed out perfectly aligned and perfectly readable. the double-sided printing for each label is a very nice touch too. One side would be sufficient, but this makes it even better. Others have wondered why these are for A4 paper and not for standard 8 1/2" x 11" like we mostly use here in the states. I admit I wondered that too, but ultimately it doesn't matter. It's A4, so nothing to do but deal with it, and it wasn't difficult to do.I've also found the label pages can be run through the laser printer multiple times. I did my first batch as soon as I received these, and then a month later I found other items I wanted to label with these and had no problems inputting my text for the next unused labels on the page and printing them. There are other devices and solutions available for labeling and identifying cords, but after using these labels I would not do anything differently. Five stars for these all the way!
