HPRTExclusive Thermal Ribbon - Support MT800 (216mm) Portable Thermal Printer-New Version

I was expecting a low end device with cheap materials and shoddy construction for the price of this device, but that was not at all what I received.The device feels well constructed. The touch of the plastic housing is satisfying and slightly satiny; it has a pleasing heft to it though it is well balanced. The latches holding the ribbon door apply just the right amount of resistance as you press it closed, and open smoothly when you press the button to release them. The case had a velvety lining and was better constructed than cases I've received with high-end products. The only materials/construction complaint I have is that the included USB A to C cable seems to be too tight at both ends, and takes more pressure than I want to use to insert it into the port.It took a bit of coaxing to connect to my Windows laptop, but almost negligibly so. The driver complained that the printer was unable to print my test page, but I deleted the print jobs, and suddenly it was up and printing. This is not remotely uncommon on just about any printer, low- or high-end.Once printing on the included "glossy" paper (50 sheets that billed themselves as 100% recycled), the printer made some noises that I wasn't expecting (I'm not sure how to describe them), but they didn't sound like anything was out of place, and I'm chalking it up to the print technology (perhaps the take-up spool varying its speed based on tension or something) and I have no problem with them, but they may be a turn-off to some users. The paper wasn't glossy at all, but very smooth and lightweight, maybe a 16 lb hot-pressed bond paper. I'm actually pleased by the seemingly low quality of the included paper, because the print quality that came out was also excellent, despite not being on thick, glossy photo paper like the description seems to imply is necessary to get a good result. The smaller text is probably 10 point.)I have only printed a couple of test/sample pages, and haven't connected to it through any other means than the USB cable, but I'm thrilled with what I've received.

i was looking for a very small printer for travel.the MT800 printer fit the bill just fine.Just accept that this is not a desktop printer and the quality of print shows that.Still for a carry along printer this is perfect for me

Does the job I need done. There is a learnig curve but no more than expected. But the payoff is that I now present docs to clients instantly, at their location.Customer service is 5+ stars. The company listened to my PREVIOUS gripes and made things right.Bottom line: For a portable, dependable, print-anywhere solution this item fits the bill.

I have tried two sets of ribbon on this printer and the quality is so bad it cannot be used. I had to have someone print something for me in order to read it. The printer is totally useless if the ribbon is too bad to print anything. This should be taken off the market along with the printer if neither can be used! Total waste of money!

Ease of use. Value for the money

My only complaint is that they don't last long if you have lots to print.

My original opinion of this printer and ribbon was poor, at best. After much hair pulling and a lot of help from Tech Support, I have finally been able to get this printer and the ribbons to work correctly. IMPORTANT, this ribbon works best with GLOSSY paper! HUGE difference!! Thank you Tech Support for going the extra mile to help me to get this printer and the ribbon to work properly!!

I liked because it was portable. But print quality is not to good. To hard to read numbers. For instance 6 and 8. I use this to read routes and directions. Going to change printers

Not the clearest printer, but it's good for its size and price. Would recommend for informal documents, wouldn't recommend for highly important docs.

ribbon is not compatible with mt800 printer . So it does not fit inside printer . Even i tried to replace the 2 rollers with my original plastic sonit fit in the printer but the printer couldn’t read that there is ink so total useless item for mt800 printer
