The artist who creates these feathers begins by hand-selecting the best quality domestic white goose and turkey feathers he can find. He then goes through the painstaking process of carefully cleaning, straightening, preening and clipping the feathers to provide the shape and size required. Finally these are hand-painted to transform a plain white feather into a beautiful, very realistic reproduction of a raptor feather. This feather represents a wing feather from a Bald Eagle.
