Clear, not dumbed down guide for new beneficiaries
Straightforward and un-intimidating, while specific and informative, this concise book was written to provide beneficiaries with the tools and information to understand their trust. It is designed for the beginner - the person who may not even know what a trust is - and offers encouragement and a roadmap to becoming an engaged beneficiary. The author, Patricia Angus, Esq. is an experienced attorney and advisor to wealthy families and doesn't shy away from discussing the emotional implications and power dynamics of family trusts while laying the groundwork for the best possible relationship with trustee(s).

Every Beneficiary Needs To Read This
Thank you Patricia for writing this concise, smart, and digestible read on the role, responsibilities, and reality of a beneficiary. This book is excellent for advisors, inheritors, grantors, and parties to a trust. I am happy to have this as a companion to your book, The Trustee Primer.

Effectively does what it sets out to do
I enjoyed The Trustee Primer and just carved out time to read Patricia Angus' Beneficiary Primer. It is excellent in that it gives the simple architecture of the legal relationship, how it is governed, some of the major variables, but also practically supports agency among the beneficiaries reading it to invest in their knowledge and their role in framing a constructive relationship with their own Trustee. That Angus ventured to layer in some of the empathetic elements is additionally helpful framing for appreciating the role and challenges presented to each and their respective viewpoints that might surface during the relationship. Well done!
