Easy way to learn Photoshop Elements
I would highly rate the book for anyone who wants to learn the core of Photoshop Elements II without outside assistance. Each of the lessons walks you through the program and leaves you with the skills that you can apply to your own photographs. My only (limited) concerns popped up; when I got to the later chapters. It appears that the book may have been an edited version from an earlier edition of Photoshop Elements. Those edits were done well until the later chapters and then a few of the book's directions wouldn't work. I was able to figure out adjustments and work my way through but it was disconcerting as I first was sure that I'd made the mistakes myself. Also, expect that this is not going to complete mastery of the program, but it's a very good first series of steps. You will need to spend a significant amount of time working your way through your own photographs (and making mistakes) before you get the most of the book and the program.

Clearly written with nice examples and practice photos
This book provides ample detail and clear explanations on Elements 11. It is especially good for someone beginning in Photoshop Elements. The amount of information provided can be overwhelming and I found myself having to take breaks and come back to review information before going forward with new concepts. My only negative issue with it is that it spends a lot of time at the beginning explaining the Organizer and channeling a lot of the examples through the Organizer before using the Editor. I do not use the Organizer as my principle storage for photos and therefore, would have liked more information and perhaps, examples for those of us who already store photos in our computers with IPhoto or other on computer storage programs.I would recommend this for those people who want to learn Elements 11.

Wonderful Book to Learn Elements 11!
Having just gotten into the post processing of digital images arena, I ordered this book along with Photoshop Elements 11. I'd already had Photoshop Elements 10, but the books I'd gotten for it were less than to be desired. This book was quite different and a very pleasant experience! I love the format of lessons that build upon each other and it took me through each facet of Elements 11 from Quick to Expert to where I feel I can navigate around with confidence. I've marked in the book, made notes, and I'm ready to use my own images to practice on. And love the fact that THIS book has the CD of images! Thank you! If your looking to learn Photoshop Elements 11, and don't want to trudge through a bunch of on line tutorials, then this book is for you!

Flexible and comprehensive, but hard to grasp for a beginner
I liked that -- provided you did a lot of research -- this program did pretty much everything required. It is not an intuitive program and therefore has a lot of "discreet" moves that logic won't help you with. Persevering is rewarding but time-consuming.

Appreciate Classroom in a Book series
I am a former media teacher who is now retired. As a teacher you had to know your stuff when presenting to a classroom of high school students and the series of Classroom in a Book enabled me to have answers to student questions. Now that I am retired, I can take more time and really learn the "ins and outs" of the software and to really enjoy photo editing. This is a great way to learn without wasting time. I really like having the CD with photo files so that I am sure that I am doing what I need to in order to learn and apply learned lessons to my own work.

Better Than Others
Adobe as expected has done an excellent job with this book. It gives detailed explanations in a classroom format for each of the functions associated with both the "Organizer" and "Editor" in Photo Shop Elements 11. A disk is supplied with photo files for each of the book exercises. I'm a Photo Shop class room instructor and use the book as a reference for the PSE course I teach.

I like the e-book, but....
The hardbook version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 has a disc with files to go with the lessons but you do not get the disc with the e-book. Due to the omission of the disc, the learning process was more difficult - but I did overcome the problem. The information provided in the e-book is invaluable.

Presumes a lot
When I first looked at this, I was very confused (and I am not considered stupid) as the book seemed to assume a reasonable degree of knowledge. I even bought another book in despair. However, several hours of lessons from a lady doing a master's in Photography later, I found it really useful. So, get somebody to show you the basics first and you will enjoy the book, as I now do.

Still keep using this to learn more
After paying for Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements it makes sense to get the most out of you purchase and although it takes time to work through the two Classroom books it is time well spent.Only draw back being that it means investing more in a particular version of the Adobe products and hence I am more reluctant to upgrade!

Elements 11
This is a very basic book for Elements and great if you are starting out with Photoshop Elements. If you have used a previous version of Elements like me the I would not recommend this book, There are far better and more detailed and creative books on Elements 11 available.

Great improvement
Elements 11 was purchased to replace my old Elements 7. I find this version to have a much better layout. My only gripe is that the index requires a lot of searching before you can find the task you are looking for. One day I hope to upgrade to CS6, however that is a lot of money!
