This works and I highly recommend
Our last car had $5500 worth of damage from rats eating the wiring. We tried peppermint sprays, rat traps, rat bait all with varying degrees of success. They would work temporarily, but we live in a city and park in an alley and if you weren't vigilant about spraying the car frequently (basically a few times a week and after every use) the rats would come back and settle in. Hence the repair bill. Also, even if the rodents nest in the engine and don't cause damage, their droppings create a terrible smell once the engine heats up.With our new car we were looking for a more permanent solution that didn't involve moving and I think the CoverSeal cover is it. The materials are high quality, it feels durable, and the weighted bottom really does keep the cover flush to the ground. I was deeply skeptical of this at first and convinced that rats were getting in, so for the first 5 days I would climb under the cover and start the car to see if any scurried out. Nothing. We've had extended periods of high winds and the top of the cover flexes, but the bottom seal doesn't budge. This actually solves the problem of keeping them out entirely, which is more important than just preventing them from chewing wires. It's a bit pricier upfront than the other marketed solutions for this problem, but it's a one-time cost, gives you peace of mind, and is very obviously cheaper than if you have to get repairs.

Keeps the rodents from getting in
I ordered this cover after paying >$1000 to repair damage made by a squirrel. I had previously tried a number of other remedies, including peppermint oil, but none of them worked. This cover is the only solution that works consistently, but there are a couple of noticeable drawbacks. First, it is very heavy and difficult to use on a daily basis. I've been putting it on and off my car during weekdays for the past 16 months, and it's not easy even for a big guy like myself. You get used to it after a while, but it does require a significant amount of strength. Second, although the material seems durable, I've started seeing a lot of small tears beginning to form. In summary, the cover is a great and useful product, but it needs to be redesigned to address the concerns that I and other reviewers highlighted.

Simply the Best!
I have been using this product for the past few years. I got to know the owner during this time and have followed his path from prototype through production. The new cover I received a few days ago is simply the best product on the market. The material is strong and durable and the weighted skirt that goes along the bottom sites perfectly on the ground. It keeps out pests, diet, wind, rain and anything else that could damage my vehicle. I own a vintage 1989 Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I just wouldn’t trust my car to anything else for protection. The cover is also discreet in that no one knows what is underneath. That makes it even more valuable and protective. If you care about your car, buy this product. They stand behind their work and the owner provides excellent customer service and support. JK, Berkeley, CA.

Used product sent
I was extremely disappointed with this item. We unpackaged it, and it was evident right out of the box that it was a used product. We promptly repackaged the item and returned it. The base of the product, which was weighted and was to keep rodents out, was twisted and not sure of the seal it was making on the ground. I will say this is a great concept, and had it been a new product, which is what we paid for, we would have kept it.

Heavy, works but cumbersome
Can’t put on car or take off easily alone. Bought to keep a mouse or squirrel out of car. Sprayed all around bottom with mint oil after placed this cover. No animals or droppings under hood when came home so this worked (found nutshells, leaves, droppings, evidence of nest a few days prior to going on a trip). The weighted edges alone would not be enough to keep an animal out (would be easy for one to squirm under the not very heavy edge). Also sprayed around under hood with peppermint and added a mouse deterring disc with a strong odor under hood. So far they have not returned even without cover.

Full size cover fit on my Lincoln Town Car just fine
Full size cover fit on my Lincohn Town Car just fine. Judging from my cover, it would also fit on a Cadillac or similar oversize cars. Putting it on is a workout due to the weight (40 pounds?) but taking it off is not because gravity helps. When I take it off, I let it fall on a tarp and then drag the tarp to where I want to stash it while I am away. It was extremely windy today. But nothing short of a hurricane will pull off the cover. I can't say anything about the durability yet since I just got it but I am going to take good care of it. I just shelled out $1,500 last months to replace hoses and wires chewed on by squirrels that set up house keeping in my engine compartment. $360 for the cover is a bargain compared to the cost for towing and cost of repair. I didn't use my car for two weeks since I am retired and that's all the time it took to turn my car into a paperweight.

Good for rat prevention so far
We recently live in the Santa Cruz mountains and are learning the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. While beautiful, nature hates you. The rats most of all. Or love, at least in the form of eating the wiring harness of your vehicle and causing $11K in damage. This is not a simple car cover to take on and off, but after paying $11 K to get your car back, insurance or not, you want to find a solution. Rat traps, poison (we don’t want to harm other wildlife) and live traps, you eventually want to go full caddyshack on them. This is a better approach, the weighted skirt is smart, I like to cover my cars out here anyway but the thing weighs nearly 40 lbs. It’s fine for me, my wife can do it herself with one hand with a recent hand injury but it is an effort.Overall, I haven’t found a better solution and it seems to work so far. I recommend it and it sounds like the inventor is from the area and understands our pain.
