This review is from: Maple (Hardcover)The first line of the book is "Maple loved her name" and every time my daughter shouts out "I love my name too!". It's pretty adorable.When we go outside my daughter tries to re-enact the book by putting a coat on the trees outside. She thinks it's hysterical. (So do I.) She also is enjoying seeing the leaves on the trees grow from buds this Spring. This is the first year she's been old enough to appreciate that process, and she talks about how it's just like the leaves in the Maple book.All in all, if you want a nice sweet book to read to your kids about trees, it's a huge hit!But it's also got a deeper message about welcoming a new baby into the family. My wife and I have used this book to talk to our daughter about becoming a big sister and how that will be a wonderful experience for her. It's been great for that too.

I bought this book for my daughter and husband. It made the best pregnancy announcement and my daughter loves the idea of a girl and her tree. My husband was amused and bewildered by it til he got to the end where I hid the confirmation of pregnancy paper. It was so well done, we did it to several other family members lol! Here, read this delightf book to the toddler, she loves it and the artwork is simple but lovely, and Bam, guess what?Seriously though, the art is great, the message is sweet, the words and diction roll right along and it's a lovely book

I used to be a preschool teacher, so I've had my fair share of reading to children before I became a Mom & an Auntie. This is a beautiful story about family, love, preparing for a new baby, and the beauty of nature. The illustrations are warm and fitting for the story. I bought this as a gift for a new big sister, and I can't wait for her to receive it.

Wonderful story for sisters. I read this to my oldest every night when I was expecting.

This is my new favorite children’s book for ages 2-5. Beautiful illustrations. An easy to read aloud book about a young girl and her friendship with her tree and her relationship with her new baby sister.

Great book. Don’t read if you have pregnancy hormones. You will end up in tears.

We bought this for my daughter as an Easter gift (which was a week before my son's birth). She was very much so the baby of the family and didn't want a little brother or sister. This book started to help build the bond between them before my son was born. This is a very sweet and whimsical book that I highly recommend.
