For many years I've been wanting to learn to tat, but it isn't easy finding a teacher for this. In a local shop I had seen several copies of this book on learning to tat. I couldn't get it that day, but when I went back a few days later, alas, they were all gone. When I looked it up on-line, Amazon came back with the exact book I wanted at less than half the price in the store. I came out the winner. This book is excellent. Within a few weeks and 20+ butterflies later the skill to tat is mine. The DVD is great.

I need better more detailed instructions.

I have tried to master tatting for years! This is the first resource I have utilized, with a DVD, that provided excellent visual support to the written directions provided in the book. The ability to review the DVD repeatedly allowed me to succeed where even personal demonstrations by tatters were not as effective since that experience was fleeting. The "classes" are organized and allow the user to master each phase of training. I am exceedingly happy with this great educational package and the success I have already achieved from using these excellent resources!! I highly recommend it!

Tatting is for people with agile fingers! Years ago an elderly neighbor lady wanted me to learn to tat, and I resisted. I was more interested in learning to knit or crochet. SO, at 57, I finally purchased a tatting shuttle and this instructional book and DVD. Oh, I can do what they're showing me, but my fingers are not nimble enough to do it well enough to enjoy it. Absolutely wonderful book and DVD, well-taught and illustrated. Maybe I can convince my daughters to use that tatting shuttle..... ;-)

When I first saw this book available, I was excited, so I ordered it. I waited at least a week, and finally it came to me by UPS. I opened the package carefully, and removed the dvd from envelope in the middle of the book. I tried several times to play it, but it wouldn't work. I examined its surface, and there didn't seem to be any scratches on it, but along the edge of the disc there was a little chipping.The book itself is fine and easy to read, but still I need to see things done hands on.I notified the seller, and they ordered another one for me. I waited another week or so, and it finally came. I was happy that they took care of it so promptly, and couldn't wait to view it. The problem is it also did not work, so then I tried it in my computer, which plays dvds. It wouldn't work there either. I don't know why it's not working. It says Disc is unplayable or something like that.I notified this seller again. I am afraid to get anymore replacements, because now I will have to wait even longer, and honestly I am afraid it's not going to work.

This is a super book/video for anyone wanting to learn to shuttle tat. I originally learned/improved my technique, have loaned it to friends who have expressed an interest in tatting, and have also given it as a gift more than once.
