Well, sure dyes most things well
So I bought this to try on a project that I had been working on, a soft rubber paintball visor. I've been trying to get it a neon pink, and struggled with the traditional dyes to do it. I thought I'd give this a go, even with the built-in scent. Now, to soften the material on a visor, you need to get a good boil going, which I did, and open the pours with heat, water, salt, and dawn. I did this for about 15 minutes, and had it to where the dye would normal bond really quickly. I got the bottle ready and dumped it right on into the mixture. There are moments in life when you know that you screwed up with the benefit of hindsight. There are other times when you immediately know that you done screwed the pooch. It took no time whatsoever to know that I had angered the dye gods. The dye immediately exploded in the pot like an angry woman I had just told to calm down. The dye shot out everywhere, looking like a volcano god that just realized that the virgin you just sacrificed may not have been telling the whole truth. Dye. Flew. Everywhere. Tiles. Stovetop. Floor. Grout. Cabinets. If it was within 3 feet, it was now a bright pink. I spent the next hour using a towel, rag, soap, water, and sandpaper trying to get the dye off of everything that it had touched, all the while smelling like I had desperately wanted to ward off any vampires within 50 miles of the house. The good news is that, after an hour of scrubbing and sanding, I had succeeded in cleaning about everything off. The bad news was the one thing that didn't take the dye was my dumb visor.I'm giving it 5 stars for this failed experiment. Sure, it didn't take on the visor. But it had no trouble whatsoever turning every other thing it touched bright pink whether I wanted it to or not, and definitely made it reek of garlic. So it really did work as advertised.

I bought this for salt water use here in New England & I'll say that right up front that I haven't had a chance to fish with it yet, as the season for me doesn't start 'til April.Rated it for the the way it dyes soft plastics.I bought the chartreuse & pink, & if you use them on pure white plastics the color is VERY bright, what most people would probably call "flourescent".When I got the 2 oz bottles they looked small & I thought 'this stuff isn't going to go very far', but after using it on half a dozen skirts & 6" grubs it looks like it's going to be a good value for the money.I'm sure the fish will like the colors. If the scents live up to my expectations I'll come back & give it 5 stars. If I was rating it just on colors & value I would give it 5 stars today.
