French Beginners Workbook

This collection of materials is very appealing to me. It is, in fact, my favorite of the beginner French textbooks I've tried! The 2020's edition has been completely redesigned. The material arrangement and difficulty curve have been greatly improved over the previous edition (a comparison video with the old version can be found on YouTube). If I had to choose between the new and old versions, I'd go with the new one.Give it a shot if you are a "intuitive learner" (someone who gains more effectively from flashes of insight, using their imagination, and grasping the general concepts rather than all of the details) or a "global learner" (someone who tends to learn in large leaps, absorbing material almost randomly without seeing connections, and then suddenly "getting it"). You are unlikely to be disappointed.The shopping experience, on the other hand, was less than pleasurable. The book arrived with dozens of serious binding errors the first time (see image 1), and the second time I received a package that was badly damaged from the outside in and also damaged some of the book itself (see image 2), which can be attributed in part to Amazon's use of only a thin layer of bubble wrap packaging.I didn't request an exchange (for the third time) because I'm tired of waiting. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but I'm beginning to have doubts about the quality of binding and Amazon's packaging materials. Because of the book's high price and excellent reputation among French language students, it may be better to have realistic expectations, especially if you require international shipping as I do.
