Louise BaringDora Maar: Paris in the Time of Man Ray, Jean Cocteau, and Picasso

Very interesting, some great images that are hard to find on the Internet and in other books. Clear and concise history of Maar's life. However, I'm studying History of Art and found it a bit disappointing how autobiographical this account is. Not very critical or unique. Still, a worthwhile addition to the bookcase!

Beautiful and interesting book.

Interessantissimo. Tiene fede a quanto descritto con un importante e presioso corredo illustrativo di iummagini spesso inedite o poco viste.

The headline asks, "What is most important to know?" and that seems to be it. This book doesn't convince me that she was anything more than a second-rate photographer and not much else. While she might not be nothing without Picasso, looks like she wasn't much.
