I like the JItterbug.
Better than I expected. Plan prices are affordable. Very easy to send texts and emails, download apps, manage phone. My interaction with Customer Service has been smooth. I hesitated getting a smart phone because of the monthly cost... didn't think I would use it that much.was mistaken... I use it a lot. I also didn't want to have to remember all those icons, like on my I pod. Don't have to with Jitterbug. Send a text, tap text. Send an email, tap email. Go on the internet, tap internet. I'm 69 years old and like things simple. This was the phone for me.

Best phone ever for seniors! Or for me!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this phone! I purchased this phone for my elderly mom who was in the hospital for 8 weeks. She had absolutely nothing to do but watch tv and talk on the phone. In 8 weeks she talked almost 5000 minutes! One of the great things about this phone is that when you are setting it up you have the option to set it up to regular smart phone mode or "senior" smart phone mode. The senior mode is larger. Very large. It has a lot of features that we have not used yet, such as health advice, etc. One of the things I really like is the brain games. It comes installed on the phone so you don't have to download anything. My mom has had several strokes and these games are really good for her to work her brain. The one she likes is simple matching colors and shapes. It starts off easy and gets a little harder. I also like that you don't have to "swipe" to turn the phone on. My mom can NOT swipe! With this phone you turn it on by touching 3 circles. Circle 1, 2 and 3. They are big circles and easy for her to touch. To get minutes on this phone you just sign on to Great Call. It was easy to set up an account and sign her up for a monthly minute package. They offer several different ones and they were actually cheaper than what I am paying for straight talk. In fact, when she gets out of the hospital I am thinking about stealing her phone and making it mine!

I purchased the Jitterbug Smart for my mother who is 83
I purchased the Jitterbug Smart for my mother who is 83. It is her first cellphone of any type and I appreciate the simplicity and ability to customize. There are 3 issues I've experienced that could be improved with minor design change or software upgrade. 1) Answering incoming calls has been difficult for mom. Rather than having a simple green handset icon to touch to answer, it is a circular pattern with a small white handset icon in the center which you swipe right to answer or left to send call to voicemail. Mom is left handed and it is awkward for her to swipe instead of touch and the right hand direction for an elderly leftie is unnatural. Just replace it with a larger green handset icon to touch and problem solved. 2)The volume at the highest setting is too low for mom and for me. Neither of us is hard of hearing, so this definitely would be an issue for anyone with even slight hearing impairment. 3) Mom has accidentally placed the phone in Airplane mode several times, losing the critical ability to make and receive calls. Airplane mode is too easy to activate by an accidental downward swipe and I don't think it is a function that is needed frequently for most users. Make it accessible only by accessing a tools or options screen which would prevent most accidental activations of Airplane mode.I have spent considerable time educating mom on use of her phone. She's getting it but there's a longer learning curve for someone who has never used a cell of any type.I will be providing this same feedback directly to Jitterbug as well. I hope potential buyers find it useful when considering a purchase.

One star rating is too much.
When we found out the details of the charges ...........(The apps usage was extra extra expensive)We decided the Jitterbug was not for us. Jitterbug refused to give us back the phone numbers we had had for thirty years. We had to get new phone numbers. We are 85 years old. We had to contact every one we had known for a lifetime and give themour new phone numbers. How would you react to that?Plus, we returned two (2) jitterbug phones, in the same package. We have received credit for only one.........Why is that????????????????We are being generous to give Jitterbug one star.

Do not recommend this product
They sent me a Verizon card when I requested an AT&T they assured me the Verizon would work it did not. It kept dropping calls it kept saying that the Verizon lines were all busy I was very disappointed also the volume on it was turned all the way up and you still couldn't hear it ring and you couldn't hear the people talking hardly. I've had to buy another phone and I'll be returning this one for refund.

Jitterbug is the answer
Bought this phone for my technologically challenged husband. The screen is big, his chubby fingers can text without constant typos, and it is very simple to use. Before this he had a flip phone and then a Tracfone (smartphone). But the flip phone was ancient, and the Tracfone was small and never really worked properly. Most times that I tried to reach him, the phone had powered off and I went straight to voicemail...not helpful when trying to convey a change in plans or the need to run an errand before returning home. The Jitterbug is the answer to my dreams (and he likes it too, so he's more likely to use it.) Yeah!!!!!!!!

Don't waste your money.
This is the worse phone I have ever had. The volume for conversations was nearly non-existent. I was charged $40 for data overage the first month I had it. I called and they said it was updates on the first day I set up the phone. The next month I was charged $100 overage fee for data usage. This time when I called I was told it was because of the map app I had used. I never downloaded any maps and was unaware that I must have accidently touched the icon and it was turned on, but with no usage. I ended up cancelling my account after the Customer Service rep said I just needed to learn the phone. I have wasted over $300 on this product and would not recommend it to anyone.
