This knife is exactly what you want for the finer details when whittling or wood carving. My husband was so impressed with it he has recommended it to many others. It is lightweight, comfortable to hold and does exactly what you expect of it. Great quality and price. Highly recommended.

I am a beginner in carving wood spirits on canes. This knife gives me the control to smooth out details and correct what I view as mistakes. It is extremely sharp. Like many not-so-good carvers, I have a tendency to want to pry out chips. With the risk of this breaking the blade, I have bought a backup of this knife. I rely so much on it, I do not want to be without one. I also use the regular Flexcut detail knife and the carving knife. I always try to buy American, both to support my American working brothers and sisters, and because our craftsmanship is world class. This knife is an example of that craftmanship. I only wish Flexcut made this knife in the Special Edition with a South American Bocote wood handle. They are very cool.
