OEM part wins the day
This MAF sensor fixed an erratic idle on a cold start issue where the engine would barely run—sometimes stalling—before it warmed up. Once it was warmed up, it would run fine. The car is a 2009 VW Beetle w/2.5L. It was not throwing any codes but the MAF reading was varying a lot, but still w/I spec on idle even after it warmed up.The mechanic who previously worked on it installed an aftermarket sensor that only replaced the electronic part of the unit; not the entire assembly. I took a chance by replacing the whole assembly with this part. It started running better from the first cold start and the variance of the MAF sensor was much tighter; w/I 1 grams/sec.TL;DR replaced aftermarket MAF part with OEM part and it solved the erratic cold-start idle/ performance issue.

Don't buy chinese crap. Go with Bosch.
When replacing sensors on your VW don't try to take shortcuts with chinese aftermarket parts. Buy Bosch. Don't waste your money and time on anything else.

Don’t waste your time on aftermarket junk locally. This maf fixed all issues that were encountered with trying the local knockoff brands. Price was cheaper too

If you have a bad or worn MAF with an OE Bosch sensor
If you have a bad or worn MAF with an OE Bosch sensor, you should always replace with Bosch unit. This was used to replace a shorted MAF on a 07 vw jetta with Bosch Motronic management system. It worked as expected

Purchased as my diagnostic investigation on my 2006 vw Jetta with high fuel consumption led me to believe the MAF sensor was bad. This arrived and I installed it and the car seems to be running much better now and improved fuel economy.
