Cortlandt

In short, this is poorly written. It feels like a slapped together photo album- there are spelling errors throughout,- the photo captions aren't very descriptive. In some cases, it's just a photo of an unknown person standing in an unreferenced location- some photos only state what it was when it existed, not WHERE it existed- there are photos of wrong hamlets/villages in the chapters for other hamlet's/villages- in some cases there are photo after photo of the exact same thing or people just to fill a chapter.- Some of the information is factually inaccurateHaving recently read several Images of America volumes of local towns, this is by far my least favorite. It is definitely not worth $29. The Croton volume is far more informative. I would also suggest the Croton Dams volume. Both fall within the Town of Cortlandt and have interesting histories.
