HydraPakSeeker - Collapsible Water Storage (2L, 3L, or 4L) - BPA & PVC Free Camping Hydration Reservoir

Just finished a two day trek on the Laurel Highland Trail in Western Pennsylvania. I had been looking for something to contain extra liters to filter through my Katadyn BeFree Gravity filter and then discovered this actually fit the filter! Found this one used-like new for $14 on Amazon and it arrived without having been used. The first and second night both water pumps at the shelters were not producing enough water so the wide mouth on the Hydrapak allowed me to scoop up water from the local streams. I brought it along and loved the fact that I could filter 3 liters (Katadyn) for my camelbak and have another 3 liters (Hydrapak) to filter for drinking at the shelter. Do I need to have both with me at the same time! No. However, friends were with me so I had water to share with them while they waited for their Iodine tablets to kick in. I used the hanging strap from my Katadyn, attached the filter and hose from the Katadyn and was able to securely hang the Hydrapak using one of the attachments on the pak without any issues. The pak easily rolled up when not in use. The screw cap also fit my Katadyn water bladder. Heavy duty. Love it!I love the fact that I can freeze this serving another purpose especially on a road trip. Finally, I created a past of baking soda and washed the inside before use. Did not notice any kind of tasted after filtering water from the Hydrapak. Highly recommend!

I would give 4 stars if it weren't for the taste of plastic. Something seems to be leaching from the container into the water. I've left water in it for days to see if it would eventually stop, but it really hasn't. I've done this 3 times now at home nevermind that I've backpacked with it about 3 times so far. I think it's gotten better, but it's still there. I'm disappointed. Maybe I need to try a new one. Don't think I can send this back at this point.Ok, the above issue aside, it's a great bag when combined with a BeFree filter. The filter is 5 stars because of it's increased flow over the Sawyer products. So I don't want to confuse ratings here. In other words, the Hydrapak is great because the size of the mouth works with the BeFree filter. So I don't want to give it a higher rating just because it works with the BeFree. Or should I? Sooo many decisions.Actually, I really do like the bag because the combination of this bag along with the BeFree means I don't need the Sawyer squeeze combo that I think is a giant pain in the rear. All that squeezing! With this combo, when I need water, I simply squeeze it out of the bag (hard to explain here, but there's much much less of the annoying squeezing required versus the sawyer combo). You don't feel like you're really filtering water. In my opinion, it's a leap forward in filtering water. Just have to try it I guess. No, I didn't get anything free or work for any of these companies. I just love talking about backpacking gear. And buying it too. I have to be careful, it's just too easy to get something in 2 days with Prime.

Benutzte den Wasserbeutel bisher an heissen Wochenenden im Schwarzwald. Nur sehr geringer Geruch nach Plastik der sich auch im Wasser nach einem Tag Lagerung kaum schmecken läßt. Die Verschlusskappe ist dicht, so dass die Wurst auch im Rucksack transportiert werden kann. Beim Transport in den Netzseitentaschen des Rucksacks sollte man noch eine Befestigung durch die Transportschlaufen, welche am Rand und auf der Oberseite laminiert sind, durchziehen. Denn durch die lange, schmale Form arbeitet sich der Wasserbehälter gerne heraus bis er oben abknickt und herausrutscht. Ein weiterer Nachteil der Form ist, dass der Behälter nicht aufrecht steht. Leer läßt er sich klein zusammenfalten und verstauen. Insgesamt ein gutes Produkt, dass nach meiner Meinung aber kaum Vorteile gegenüber einem Wassersack bietet. Das Gewicht von ca. 87 Gramm (Herstellerangabe) geht auf Grund des stabil und zäh wirkenden Materials in Ordnung. Interessant wäre mal ein Durchstichversuch, also wenn es mal jemand versuchen würde? Günstig ist er allerdings nicht. Gute und leichtere Alternativen wären z. B. Faltflaschen von Platypus oder Evernew, zumindest in der 2 Liter Variante.

Tuve la oportunidad de llevarla de camping dos días después de recibirla, ambas noches deje la bolsa llena con una solución de Bicarbonato de Sodio y unas cuantas gotas de cloro, para eliminar cualquier olor o sabor que pudiera dejarle a los líquidos lo cual funciono a la perfección, la bolsa es ligera y no ocupa mucho espacio cuando esta vacía, viene en una pequeña bolsa para que la puedas guardar cuando no esta en uso, me gusto tanto el producto y la calidad que decidí adquirir un filtro Katadyn para poderla usarla en esos viajes donde sabes que tienes espacio limitado en la mochila pero sabes que hay fuentes de agua cercanas, ademas decidí comprar el Kit Plug and Play y manguera para bolsa de hidratación de la misma marca Hydrapak con el cual la puedes usar como dispensador de agua, regadera y la bolsa de hidratación misma, fue tanto el impacto de la calidad del producto que también adquirí el contenedor de 8 lts para viajes futuros con la familia.

Parfait , prend peu de place. J’avais lue les commentaires d’autres acheteurs et certains se plaignaient de l’odeur, je ne constate aucune odeur sauf un peu l’odeur du neuf mais après avoir fait tremper avec de l’eau et du bicarbonate de soude plus aucune odeur! Parfait je suis très satisfaite de cet achat et le recommande fortement! Merci!
