Here is your answer and the math is also provided! The cooker uses 450 watts per hour, max. 2 times a day would equal 900 watts used on average. 900 watts times 30 days = 27,000 watts used for a month. 27,000 watts = 27 kWh at your rate of .20 cents per kWh = $5.40 per month to cook approx. 180 cups of rice or $.03 cents to cook 1 cup of rice!! I understand that these cups are actually equivalent to about 3/4 American cups.How much cooked rice does this make if filled it to the 2 cup line?

: 3 cups capacity, however, the cup that comes with the cooker is smaller than American measuring cup. Its true capacity is 3/4 cup, which is 6 oz. So this rice cooker will take up to 18 oz of uncooked rice, not 24 oz by American standard of 3 cups. This is very misleading, and I wish the manufactures would not advertize that it cooks 3 cups of rice. In Japan, cup size may not be 8 oz, but in the US, we think

Is the P65 warning regarding to the teflon for the inner pot ?

Thank you for your inquiry. In regards to Prop 65, the packaging material contains Styrene and the power cord contains BPA (neither of these would come in to direct contact with food or beverage). The nonstick coating on the inner cooking pan is N-Methyl Pyrrolidone. For further information, please go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Can you make porridge (rice congee) in this newer version?  Old version has porridge setting, but new one replaced with steel cut oats setting.
