Diary of a Young Naturalist: WINNER OF THE WAINWRIGHT PRIZE FOR NATURE WRITING 2020

Blown away by this nature diary/memoir. I learnt more from this book than my teacher autism training or reading nature guide books. It has changed my perception on so many levels. Poetic. Emotionally charged. Astounding knowledge. Just…wow!

This is a searingly honest, lyrical and intelligently written, love song to Mother Nature. Every page is a joy to read. It is almost unbelievable that someone of only seventeen years has so much wisdom and is capable of articulating emotions so powerfully and so eloquently.I’ll read and re-read. It’s up there with the classics of Nature writing. Dara is a prophet for our time.

This book is just beautiful. A charming and inportant read. Thank you to the author for creating this lovely book and taking us on such a lovely nature filled journey

Wonderful and full of wonder written with a passion and surprising depth of insight and understanding. Far more then a diary or nature guide.

Wonderful book on so many levels. An insight on autism, the wonders but also the battles. This book makes you stop, look and listen to nature around you. A joy to read, thank you Dara.
