Q: How do you install this strap?

You’ll have to pull both spring bars out first, then lay the strap between the lugs like a NATO strap, and reinstall the spring bars. The clasp should be at the bottom of the watch when installed.

Q: Looks like it can disconnect given the right contact?

Not if adjusted properly. The only time I had an issue was when it was wet and wasn’t tightened properly. These don’t work well with heavy watches, though.

Q: Is this band customizable for my wrist size? the original mn asks for your wrist size (inch) when submitting order, but this one doesn't.

You can adjust the band to fit your wrist; however, if your wrist is too small for the band there is no way to cut it to make it shorter. I have a fairly small wrist and I can adjust the band so it fits me, but I am at the smallest setting possible.
