Great product received in not so great condition!
The product is amazing. The ink based colours are vibrant and dry quite quickly and easy to use but you have to work fast. Great for mixed media type of work. Can be used as an under painting for coloured pencils. However the condition the product came in wasn't great and most likely was an old stock item. The outer box was torn in places and the swatch sheet was crumpled and the pans weren't clean. However the pigments worked fine so wasn't worth the hassle of changing.

Good
The product is really good. The only reason I gave 4 stars is, it was not new. May be not used but expired and out of date. Derwent is a very good company. Liked the colors. When you buy check if it is a new product.

Very nice
Highly pigmented artist grade colours. You can paint a whole page in 1 dip. Superb. Love it.

Great little set of vibrant colour inks
This is a great way to take your Inktense art-ing on the road. A lovely, fairly compact set with great, vibrant colours. My only minor criticisms are that a) I wish there was an antique white pan in the set and b) that these half pans appear to be ever so slightly smaller than the average watercolour half pan. Then again, these are inks, not watercolours, and I suppose Derwent are within their right to set their own standard. Also, as I’ve seen people asking about this in various forums; these half pans can now be bought open stock from the Derwent website, so you will be able to replace the pans as they run out. However, as yet, only the twelve original colours of the set are available for purchase in this handy half pan format, so you won’t be able to add colours in this half pan format to your palette. I’m guessing this is to do with the fact that these particular 12 colours all have the highest lightfastness rating, whereas many of the colours available in pencil and block form have lower lightfastness ratings. Hopefully, Derwent will add more lightfast colours to their line of half pans in due course. As I like my sets to be super compact I hot glued some magnets to the bottom of the pans and transferred them into an Altoids style tin, and I also took the opportunity to add antique white, thistle and turquoise to my set, by cutting up Inktense blocks and put into some empty half pans I had lying around (see picture). - I could have easily fitted these extra half pans into the original plastic paint box, next to the disassembled water brush or where the sponge goes, but I prefer the more compact format of an Altoids style tin.The water brush that comes with this set has a really lovely fine tip, with a good flow - not too wet, not too dry - but as it is travel sized version that comes apart, the water reservoir is on the small side. I always carry a full size Pentel Aquash water brush in my pencil case, so this isn’t really an issue for me, but if you’re planning on taking your set on a plein air adventure, you will definitely need to bring either a spare water brush or a bottle of water so you can refill the brush that comes with the set.Overall, I think this is a great little set, if a bit pricey for the amount of paints and colours you get, compared to the Inktense blocks. Still, for someone who wants to have a ready-to-go professional quality travel ink set, this is a great option.

Little Gem of a Paint Box
This is my second Purchase of the Inktense Travel set, my first being the 1st pallette box. When I found they did another pallette 2 box, I knew it would be a nice set to own. Like the first set, the colours are very well thought out, and the box is small enougth to slip into your pocket for painting out and about. I particularly like the pallette 2 box for painting flowers, as I find the colour range just perfect. They also work well on fabric, which you can fix with an iron after painting.Initially, they might seem a bit pricey, but Derwent is good Quality, the colours are vibrant, mix well, and the set is very versatile, I would'nt like to be without them as they are used a lot. Highly Recommended.

Lovely little set
A lovely little compact set of paints which is ideal for taking out with you anywhere as it comes with a useful water brush and sponge. Really small and neat, it could fit in a coat pocket. Also nice to use at home for quick little pen and wash sketches as it feels kind of casual and spontaneous rather than getting out all your watercolour equipment for a serious bit of painting. The only slightly disappointing aspect is that the colours are less intense than I expected. They are nice colours but I find they look a bit faded when dry, and not as vibrant as good quality watercolours. Maybe I am using too much water. Nonetheless I’m very pleased overall with this set.

Great little set.
Although the pans are considerably smaller than a standard half pan, only a small amount of pigment is needed on the brush compared to watercolour. The pigments are so bright, rich and blend well whilst still wet.Lovely compact case with five mixing sections in the lid which, when opened, lays perfectly flat. The set includes a small, take-apart water brush that is very well designed and is pretty good quality, as you would expect from Derwent. There is also a small, rectangular section with a (removable) sponge strip for dabbing/wiping the brush tip.The brush has quite a small capacity so don't expect a day's urban sketching out of one fill. It has a stopper that fits into the water barrel end when taken apart to allow it to be left in the case filled and ready to go.Overall it's a great addition to your armoury at this price.

GREAT VERSATILE INKTENSE PAINTS
Great & versatile box of inktense paints. Never used these until I took the plunge on a whim and glad I have a box. As they say, these are quite intense vibrant colours that can be mixed to create other colours. I use these with my Winsor & Newton watercolours to add further richness to my paintings and these work well together giving a good grounded wash. Good set of colours to suit most painters. I only use W&N Series 7 brushes so have not used the brush included in the box. Also comes with its own tiny sponge that though small works well is robust washes out good & clean and has lasted me the full year. A good compact watercolour box fits neatly in a small bag and can be taken with me anywhere everywhere which is great for sketching. Recommend.
