Corinthian Bells44-Inch Windchime Black

Q: Does the sound of the chimes keep the birds away? We have several bird feeders and don't want the chimes to keep the birds away.

No they do not keep the birds away - Here in Arizona we have everything from Hawks and owls to hummingbirds and they all frequent our yard. We have two sets of Corinthian bell, the largest to the 44" and plan to get more. They are all tuned to blend together. There is a beautiful soft hum ascending to a concert melody when the wind kicks up. I have had my larger set for over 15 years and they still look and sound beautiful. I feel they are the best on the market.

Q: How do they hold up in outside non protected weather conditions?

They hold up very-very well. I live on a tropical island, and it can get windy sometimes, but these chimes don't ever get tangled. As for sun and rain, the color/sound is still great. Although, I always take them down if we have tropical storm/typhoon conditions :-) I agree with TMP, they are definitely worth the money.

Q: How do these compare in sound quality (tonal) and volume to the music of the spheres alto (50" long)? they're both similar in design.

The 44" Corinthian will be slightly higher in pitch compared to the 50" Music of the Spheres chime (the diameter of the tubes on the 44" Corinthian is approximately 1 1/4", while the 50" Music of the Spheres chime is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter). A closer match tonally in the Corinthian Bells would be our 50" size, which uses the same size tubes as the MotS Alto chime. The Corinthian Bells are tuned to Major Pentatonic scales, while the MotS chimes have a couple of different tunings available. The Corinthian Bells are available in up to six color options, whereas the MotS chimes are only available in Black.

Q: Do they any memorial windchimes?

I don’t know, but if given as a memorial gift, I’m sure the receiver would love them, as the sound they produce is soothing to the soul.
