Wyrd Sisters: A Novel of Discworld

Bought this book because I needed to complete my "witches series" of Pratchett's discworld universe. Granny and Nanny aren't as rounded as they are in later books but they are still an absolute riot to read about. Loved it.

book six in the Discworld brings us back to Granny Weatherwax (Equal rites) to learn more about her corner of the disc. The ramtop mountains are the backdrop for the kingdom of Lancre where treachery is afoot! A very generic story of kings killed for usurping and witches fulfilling prophecies is turned on its head by Pratchett’s quirky characters and flawed world (flawed in a good way). Most of the characters are memorable and you get new aspects of this beautiful world, from the sorority of witches to the Duke and DUtchess who are very real and flawed in there own ways. It;s also interesting to once again see Pratchett tackle female protagonists.Key Characters: Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Magrat, the Fool, Tomjon, Hwel, the FoolThe good: I absolutely loved the first theater scene with Granny discovering what the hell this thing is, hands down the best part of the book.The bad: naming one character Nanny and another granny and then interchangeably using first names last names and pet names. Also, the Ankh-Morpork portions of the book drag a little more than I would like.
