Regarding the Starry Night pattern. I have been disappointed by this. I saw the pattern made up at the quilt show in Long Beach this summer. I liked the idea of it very much but thought it too large for my purposes. I ordered the book and the curve tool, the smaller of the 2 choices, thinking that as I wanted to make a smaller version this would work. Once I looked at the book, I realized that it was not a pattern, but instructions. That is, there were no pattern pieces only instructions for using the curve-cutting tool. I tried using the tool to make half-size pieces but found it was impossible to cut smaller pieces of the appropriate shape using the tool. This project was intended to be used only as specified and with the special curve “foot” tool to assemble the pieces. I worked with a good friend who has long experience with machine piecing, but even she was flummoxed by this pattern. Perhaps I should not be surprised but I was hoping to be able to adapt this pattern for use, even hand-piecing, but I could not figure out a way to make this work. Obviously I will be wary when choosing patterns/instructions in the future. These limitations were not clearly expressed in the book, I realized these issues only after trying to make it work in a modified way.

Very disappointed. Says it was a pattern book but it was not only a coloring book. Didn't say it was a coloring book stated pattern and different layouts no stars from me buyer beware.
