Classic game, beautiful set and tin
I really wanted a Scrabble set in a tin as the boxes drive me nuts. This is a beautiful board, the colours took a minute to adjust to as they're slightly different to the classic board, but I love the marbled tiles and black theme. Really lovely square tin and a great gift for people as it looks fancy and it's great value for money as this will last a lifetime.

Over expensive cookie box
This Scrabble Edition is the biggest flop we've paid for over the years. Actually, you pay a high price for a so-called "Art-Deco-Tinderbox" with cheap content. The playing board is the biggest hoax. It's a flat piece of cardboard with no hold for the letters and no possibility of turning the table for playing comfort. My wife + Iluckily have a luxurios German edition of Scrabble, with a beautiful turn table and the board so constructed, that the letters fall into place and remain steadfast. The German version cost us €29,95, compared to thisBritish version at € 41 plus and that to just use the letter combination to play English Scrabble on a German board. What a waiste and what a shame!

Received X rated version.
This is a very good looking Scrabble set. From the tin box, to the 'marbled' tiles and the art deco style board, all very good. All a step up from the falling apart cardboard box I remember from my youth.Speaking of which, I do not recall the old version having so many swear words.Just something to be aware of.Otherwise, I recommend this version.

A family friendly means of cursing in front of the mother in law
So it's scrabble, but it does come in a tin box rather than a cardboard box, and the letters have a marbly pattern on them too in a quite lovely little bag. The board is still cardboard though. The review asks to comment on thickness, durability and stretch. I would say its about 2 inches thick while in the tin, thinner when it's not. If you stack all the tiles on top of each other you could argue it's taller rather than thicker, but considering semantics, you could regard it as very thick if arranged in such a manner. In terms of durability, it has lasted at least 3 full games, and 2 when the board got thrown, and it still works. No fading of tiles, wearing of board nor rusting of tin has occurred. Unfortunately it does let itself down in terms of stretch. I found neither the tiles or board have any stretch at all, and the durability of the board is very much called into question when stretched. The tin has a bit more flex but is really quite awkward to return to its original shape. Overall, an entertaining game full of some f**king obscene words, with plenty opportunity for causing arguments but absolutely no material elasticity whatsoever.

Ok when on sale but not worth full price
Got this for about £22 and it’s ok at that level. Hoped that the letter holders might be wood but cheap plastic, unfortunately. The rest is ok though
