Becoming: Adapted for Young Readers

I didn't read the "adult" version of BECOMING, but when I saw that Mrs. Obama was releasing the book for young readers I knew I wanted to check it out.First of all it is great to see all that she has been able to achieve, and how she has been able to grow into herself and her gifts. I love the way that she uses her own experiences to inspire the reader when it comes to their own goals and dreams.Even as an adult as she was entering new chapters of her life she never forgot who she was and what her life could mean to her daughters and literally the world. The message is clear: realize what is in your power to do and don't be afraid to make a difference along the way.Just the kind of book you need to remind you of what is possible.

Given to a deserving HS junior for achievement. An inspiring and leadership book is awarded by the Western Kentucky University Alumni each year.

This is a very detaile ld book. I almost feel like I'm walking through Mrs. Obama's memories with a front-row seat. Outstanding!

I enjoyed this book . This book talks about her roots and how she found her voice . She also speaks about her time in the White House and juggling being a mother and wife.

The first lady takes you through the journey that made her the great human being she is today.She clearly came from humble beginnings and with hard work and a great family to support her rose to be a great example of the American Dream.

Got it for grand turning 10 who is into biography. she loves it

Even though this YA edition is quite long, I still sent it to my ten-year-old granddaughter. If she’s not ready for such a weighty tome yet, hopefully her parents will read it with her.

They are for my great nieces for Christmas

I'm really happy with the adaptations made for young readers. This is an important book for young people!!!

This is for my grand daughter - I know she will enjoy it !!

Book looks great which is why I ordered it, however - my book arrived covered in grease stains. Pretty gross especially during covid times. It literally looked like it had been sneezed on in one area (as pictured). Not happy. This was my birthday gift to myself, and I’m immunocompromised. Yaaaayyyy....Literally the only way I’d be happy is if these stains came from Mrs Obama herself, like a weird covid-19 style autograph. Otherwise, ew.
