I have two young daughters with allergies, one with mild asthma, and both that tend to bury themselves under the covers at night until they’re sweating. I bought this for their bedroom for the purpose of improving the air quality for improved respiratory function as well as comfort, decreasing germs in general, and to also replace their white noise machine with a projector on top that we’ve had forever. This purifier is proving to be a great decision thus far. I could tell a noticeable difference in the room after having this on for just a few hours. It felt lighter, crisp & airy. Some have said that the projector didn’t wasn’t clear/focused but ours definitely is. My girls really enjoy the fact that we can change out the theme of what’s projected. Our previous white noise machine was good for drowning out outside sounds but poor sound quality. I love the hum of this one. It isn’t super quiet which I find to be a good thing. Oh, and it keeps the room cool with the amount and rate of moving air circulating. I’d absolutely buy this again, and highly recommend to parents.

My three year old loves his unit! He loves the stars in his room, and it’s a nice night light- not too bright. On it's highest setting, it can be loud, but on the lowest it’s a nice white noise that doesn’t bother any of us. We have several GermGuardian units in the house since the entire family has allergies from mild to severe and this has helped tremendously. I don’t know if only one unit in the bedroom would help, but with other units throughout the house, it’s been a world of difference. We’ve even noticed less dust in the house.

I really wanted to give a better review. I bought it for white noise and the under sea projector. The white noise is perfect and I wish I could say the same thing about the projector. However I can't do that. I only received the star pattern. No animals and no under the sea which is what I was really looking forward to. It's not easy finding a projector with sea creatures that also has a ton of other uses! Everything is stars including the one I was sent.

Thus far I really like the style, design, and ease of set up. The one thing that keeps this from being a 5-star product is not including a red light option. Blue, white, and green light are all known to disrupt melatonin production, so they’re not conducive for having restful sleep. I would gladly buy another one and rate it 5 stars, and give up all other colors, if they gave a red option.

This is my second GermGuardian unit, unlike my first unit I wanted a small unit to put in my daughter's room. It's a nice small unit that does a decent job, the lights are a nice touch, but it is LOUD. Even on the low setting you can hear from outside the room, even the baby monitor picks it up so we've had to learn to sleep with it as well. I don't like that it draws air from the back, that's against the wall so naturally it'll grab more dust from corners rather than throughout the room. Overall, it's not a bad unit, but I'd pass on it and try something else.
