Got this for good price, use it regularly and like it. It's displaced my filter paper and jug method.Good points:Quite well made. Simple design and the 8 cup is big enough to get two large mugs of coffee when full. I'm surprised how well and how long it will keep coffee warm, compared to a traditional jug, because of the design of the walls. Easy to clean and it looks like the replacement filters are fairly standard, so guess they'll be easy to replace.Bad points: Design ok and functional, but handle looks a bit 'bolted on' and could have more style. The plunger mechanism doesn't keep the grinds completely out of the poured coffee, so there are always some dregs left at the bottom of the mug - so I don't drink down to the bottom.Overall: a very quick and easy way to make decent coffee (and keep it warm) though you'll have to put up with some grinds left in the cup. Otherwise, I would recommend, but I'd always get larger than you think - this 8 cup size would only provide 8 tiny cupfuls (or 2 decent mugs as I've said)

This is a good size for one / two people who like coffee. 3 good mugfulls of coffee when filled. I like the stainless steel because I’ve broken all of the previous glass ones quite soon after being bought, so I’m really happy. It does keep the coffee warmer than glass ones and it’s nice to look at. The strainer is great, I haven’t had any problems like other reviewers, it doesn’t buckle/ crease and it loosens easily to clean. No complaints about how it operates, I like that you can turn the lid closed after pouring coffee as this keeps the air out and the coffee hot.

We decided to invest in a better quality cafetiere because we were tired of cracking and breaking the glass beakers in standard models, and because we were looking for one with better heat retention. This one has proved entirely satisfactory so far. The filter plunger fits well so there are no grounds escaping; it pours well with no dropping; it cleans easily. Its weight is well balanced and it feels good in your hand, like any better-than-average product should. The 8-cup, one litre size makes about three mug-sized servings and the double sided stainless steel keeps the coffee hot for about an hour. Overall we are very pleased.

Very pleased a solid built item and keeps my coffee hot which is great as I drink a litre each morning to myself over an hour or so , The lid has a deep rim with a arch in one area to enable pouring but this also means the snug fit lid can be rotated to help keep the heat in .The plunger is a snug fit as well so no escaping coffee grinds when pushing plunger down which happens with some cheaper brands

I bought this after breaking my third glass one in the last year or so. This one is better because it`s insulated and feels sturdy enough to last a long time.
